1．ルカの福音書について
この書は、その書き出しからわかるように、ルカの福音書の続編です。キリスト教は、1，2世紀には地中海沿岸の諸国に、4世紀にはヨーロッパ、17世紀、新大陸が発見された時代にはアメリカへ、さらに近代ではアジア、アフリカへと拡大し、世界で最も多く信じられている信仰です。この小さく始まり、大きく成長したキリスト教の歩みの最初はどうであったのか、この書はその様子を伝えています。
おそらくこの書が書かれたのは、AD60年代初めか中頃、パウロがローマで2年間投獄された時であったとされています。また宛先人のテオフィロは、この時に、すでにクリスチャンであったと考えられていますが、その人物像の詳しいことはわかっていません。
2．イエスは復活された（1:1-5）
さて本文を見てまいりましょう。ルカは、「行い始め、また教え始められたすべてのことについて」（1節）と書いています。「行い教えられたこと」ではありません。つまりルカにとって、イエスの出来事は過去のことでありません。それは、まだ続いている、いやこれから始まるものです。イエスは、十字架上でご自分の使命の完成を宣言され、天に戻られました。しかし、その後も目に見えない形で、弟子たちと共にあって、次の使命に取り組んでおられるのです。ルカが書いているのは、そのイエスの取り組みに、献身した弟子たちの姿と働きです。
そこでまずイエスがなされたことは、3節、ご自分の甦りを、弟子たちに確信させることでした。イエスは復活後40日間、弟子たちと共に在り、ご自分が、確かに十字架上で死んだにも関わらず、今なお目に見えない形で生きておられることを明らかにされました。それは目に見えない神の支配とその国の存在を明確にするものです。さらに4節、イエスは、次の使命に踏み出す前に、約束の聖霊を待つように、聖霊のバプテスマを受けるようにと命じられます。聖霊のバプテスマ、それはヨハネが授ける水のバプテスマとは異なるものです。つまりそれは、神への信仰を表明する宗教儀式ではなく、実際に神の新しいいのち、力を受ける機会です。
しかし弟子たちは、イエスのことばの意味をよく理解していませんでした。ただ、彼らはイエスのことばに感極まって、今こそ、イスラエルの新しい王国がこの地上に再興される、と考えたようです。しかし、イエスは、既に、自分はこの世の者ではなく、神の支配を実現するために世に来たと語られたように、それは大きな勘違いでした。イエスは、私がしようとしていることは、あなた方が想像する以上のものだ。だから、そのスタートのしるしとなる、父の約束の聖霊を待ち望めというわけです。
2．待ち望む弟子たち（1:9-26）
弟子たちは、オリーブ山から天に戻られるイエスを見送った後、エルサレムへ戻り、イエスの約束を待ちます。まず彼らは、14節、心を一つにして祈り始めました。集まったのは120人。イエスは500人以上の人に現れたと言いますから、やはりイエスの復活を皆が信じたわけではないのでしょう。集まったのは、お馴染みの面々、イエスの弟子たち、そしてイエスの肉親の兄弟たちでした。しかも、それは、何ともさえない面々でした。イエスを呪うほどに否定したペテロ。他の弟子たちを出し抜いて、神の国のよい地位を求めた浅ましさ丸出しのヨハネとヤコブ。最初は全く信じようとしなかったイエスの肉親の兄弟たち。どうもバツ印のレッテルを貼られた者ばかりです。しかし、そんな者たちが、今や自分たちの愚かさ、足りなさを認め、謙虚になって、一つ心になって主の聖霊を待ち望み、祈っていたのです。
ここでルカは、裏切り者のユダに触れています。イエスの十字架の犠牲は、善人ではなくまさに罪人、そしてイエスを敵とする人々のためのものでした。ですから本当は、ユダも自分を殺めず、悔い改め、主の赦しと助けを願えばよかったのです。つまり、あなたも、自分から神の下を離れないことです。むしろ、神に近付くことです。神は愛であり、あわれみ深いお方です。これから28章に渡る、悔い改めた弟子たちによってイエスの新しい使命がどのように達成されていったのかを見てまいりましょう。

Acts 1: The Ascension of Jesus, Election of Disciples
1. about the Gospel of Luke
This book is a sequel to the Gospel of Luke, as its writing indicates. Christianity is the most widely believed faith in the world, having expanded to the Mediterranean countries in the 1st and 2nd centuries, to Europe in the 4th century, to America in the 17th century when the new continent was discovered, and to Asia and Africa in modern times. This book tells the story of how Christianity began small and grew large at the beginning of its journey.
It was probably written in the early or mid-60s AD, when Paul was imprisoned in Rome for two years. Theophilo, the addressee, is believed to have been a Christian at this time, but the details of his character are not known.
2. Jesus was resurrected (1:1-5)
Now let us look at the text. Luke writes, “Of all that he began to do and to teach” (v. 1). Luke does not mean “what was done and taught. For Luke, the Jesus event is not a thing of the past. It is something that is still going on, or rather, something that is about to begin. On the cross, Jesus proclaimed the completion of His mission and returned to heaven. But even after that, invisibly, He is still with His disciples, working on the next mission. What Luke describes is the appearance and work of the disciples who were devoted to Jesus’ efforts.
The first thing Jesus did was to convince His disciples of His resurrection in verse 3. Jesus remained with them for 40 days after His resurrection, revealing to them that although He had indeed died on the cross, He was still alive in an invisible form. This clarifies the invisible reign of God and the existence of his kingdom. Furthermore, in verse 4, Jesus commands us to wait for the promised Holy Spirit and to be baptized with the Holy Spirit before embarking on the next mission. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is different from the water baptism given by John. It is not a religious ceremony to express faith in God, but an opportunity to actually receive God’s new life and power.
But the disciples did not really understand the meaning of Jesus’ words. They were so moved by Jesus’ words that they thought that now was the time for the new kingdom of Israel to be reestablished on earth. But they were mistaken, as Jesus had already told them that He was not of this world, but had come into the world to bring about the reign of God. What I am about to do, Jesus said, is more than you can imagine. Therefore, he told them to wait for the Holy Spirit of the Father’s promise, who would be the sign of the start of the process.
2. the disciples waiting (1:9-26)
After seeing Jesus off from the Mount of Olives to return to heaven, the disciples return to Jerusalem to wait for His promise. First they began to pray in unison, v. 14. There were 120 people gathered. Jesus said that he appeared to over 500 people, so I guess not everyone believed in his resurrection after all. Those gathered were the familiar faces, Jesus’ disciples, and Jesus’ immediate brothers. And what’s more, it was a rather dull crowd. Peter, who denied Jesus to the point of cursing Him. John and James, who were shallow enough to seek a good position in the Kingdom of God by outwitting the other disciples. Jesus’ immediate brothers who at first refused to believe in Him at all. Apparently, all of them were labeled with the cross mark. But now such men recognized their foolishness and lack of faith, humbled themselves, and with one heart, waited and prayed for the Holy Spirit of the Lord.
Here Luke mentions Judas, the betrayer. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross was not for the good, but for the very sinners, and those who were His enemies. So in truth, Judas should have repented and asked for the Lord’s forgiveness and help, instead of killing himself. In other words, you, too, are not to leave God on your own. Rather, you must draw near to God. God is love and merciful. Over the next 28 chapters, we will see how Jesus’ new mission was accomplished by His repentant disciples.
