1．アリエル
1節「アリエル」はヘブル語原語の音訳で、２節では、「祭壇の炉」とも訳されています。しかし「ダビデが陣を敷いた都よ」という文脈からすれば、それは、エルサレムのことを言っているのでしょう。イザヤはこの時、神殿の庭にいて、いつもながら祭儀が行われる、平穏無事な光景を見ていたのでしょう。その祭儀では、年ごとに献げる生贄も多くなり豊かに、厳かに行われるようになってきている。しかしそれは、神の裁きにさらされているのです。その神殿が、焼き尽くす火によって、炉のように燃やされていく。しかも、５節、それは突然、ふいに起こると言います。文脈は複雑です。７節、「アリエルに戦いを挑むすべての民の群れ」つまり、このようにふいにエルサレムを滅ぼそうとする、アッシリアをはじめとする様々な国もまた同じように滅ぼされる、と言います。実に恐るべき預言です。
2．霊的昏睡
しかし、当時の人々は、イザヤのこのメッセージに耳を貸そうとはしませんでした。そんなことは信じない、実に冷ややかでした。そこでイザヤは言います。９節、耳も目も開こうとしないのなら、そのまま盲目のままに生きるがよい、そしてその結果を受けよ、と。神のことばは封印されたままになるしかない。あなたがたは、これを読まないし、聞こうとしないからだ、と言うわけです（11節）。なんとも現代の教会にとっても示唆的です。
確かに、現代のクリスチャンにも同じようなことは言いうるのです。神が本当に語っておられることに耳を傾けるわけでもない、しかし、信仰生活は営まれている。実に不思議な信仰の現実があるものです。年ごとに、礼拝出席者も、献金も多くなり、教会の活動も豊かになっていく、しかし、その教会に、まことの神のことばに耳を傾ける信仰者はいない。礼拝も奉仕も形だけ。祈りも神への従順も口先だけ。いわゆる偽善者的な信仰です（１３節）。それは、神の怒りにさらされた当時のイスラエルの現実と同じです。
3．終末の救い
15節、「わざわいだ。主に自分のはかりごとを深く隠す者たち」これは、神を信じない異邦人に語り掛けていることではありません。選ばれた民イスラエルに語っているのです。状況は、キリスト教徒の装いをしながら、その中身は看板どおりではない者に向かって語っているのと同じです。確かに、クリスチャンと一言で言っても様々。本当に心から神を仰いで、神に従っているクリスチャンもいれば、同じように教会に通い、装いは敬虔そうに見えても、実際心の中心に神はいない、心の中身は神を信じない人間とまったく同じクリスチャンも多いものでしょう。人にはその区別がなかなかつきにくいものです。だから親しくしているうちに、裏切られた思いになるクリスチャンと出会うことにもなります。しかし神は、そのような信仰者の現実を、よく知っておられます（15節）。神の裁きは、そのような現実に向けられるのです。ただ神の裁きは、そのような悪い信仰者に虐げられている者のため、踏みにじられている者のためでもあるのです。ですから、19節「柔和な者は主によってますます喜び、貧しい者は、イスラエルの聖なる方によって楽しむ」と言います。
世の中ではない教会が腐っていると思われても、そこで同じように腐ってはなりません。悪に負けて、同じような悪い信仰者になってはいけません。まことに神につながり、神のことばに耳を傾けて従う、神はそのような者を助けてくださるのです。では今日も良き一日となるように祈ります。

Isaiah 29: No loss of color.
1. ariel
Verse 1 “Ariel” is a transliteration of the original Hebrew, which in verse 2 is also translated “the furnace of the altar. However, in the context of “O city where David encamped,” it is probably referring to Jerusalem. Isaiah was probably in the Temple garden at this time, watching the peaceful scene, with the rituals taking place as usual. In that ritual, the sacrifices offered year after year are becoming more numerous, richer, and more solemn. But it is also under the judgment of God. Its temple is being burned like a furnace by a consuming fire. Moreover, verse 5, says it will happen suddenly and suddenly. The context is complex: verse 7 says that “all the hosts of the people who make war against Ariel,” that is, the Assyrians and other nations who try to destroy Jerusalem in this way suddenly, will also be destroyed in the same way. This is indeed a terrifying prophecy.
2. Spiritual Coma
However, the people of that time did not listen to Isaiah’s message. They were very cold. So Isaiah says, “If you will not open your ears and your eyes,” verse 9, “then live in blindness, and suffer the consequences. The Word of God can only remain sealed. You will not read it or hear it, he says (v. 11). This is very suggestive for the modern church.
Indeed, the same could be said of Christians today. They are not listening to what God is really saying, but they are living the life of faith. It is indeed a strange reality of faith. Year after year, worship attendance and donations increase, and church activities grow in abundance, but there are no believers in the church who listen to the true Word of God. Worship and service are only a formality. Prayer and obedience to God are all talk. It is the so-called hypocritical faith (v. 13). It is the same reality of Israel at that time when they were under the wrath of God.
3. salvation at the end of time
Verse 15: “Woe to you! This is not speaking to the Gentiles who do not believe in God. It is speaking to the chosen people Israel. The situation is the same as speaking to those who pose as Christians but are not what they say they are. Indeed, there are many kinds of Christians. There are Christians who truly look up to God with all their hearts and follow Him, and there are many who go to church and look pious, but in fact have no God at the center of their hearts and do not believe in God at all. It is difficult for people to distinguish between the two. So, we may encounter Christians with whom we feel betrayed in the course of our intimacy. But God is well aware of the reality of such believers (v. 15). God’s judgment is directed against such realities. But God’s judgment is also for those who are oppressed and trampled upon by such wicked believers. Hence, verse 19: “The meek shall rejoice more and more in the Lord, and the poor shall enjoy through the Holy One of Israel.”
Even if the church, which is not of the world, seems to be corrupt, it must not be equally corrupt there. Do not be defeated by evil and become the same kind of bad believer. God helps those who are truly connected to Him, who listen to and obey His Word. I pray that you have a good day today.
