1．神の悦子
１節「シオンのために、わたしは黙っていない。エルサレムのために沈黙はしない。その義が明るく光を放ち、その救いが、たいまつのように燃えるまでは」神の力強い励ましの言葉です。心を深く揺さぶるような神の語り掛けです。信仰とは、この神の声を素直に受け止め、信頼していくことに他なりません。いつまでも自分を枯れ木だ、何もかも失い、老いぼれて、ボロボロだ、何の望みがあるのか、と言っていてはならないのです。神の声に耳を傾けよ、です。2節、神は、「あなたは新しい名で呼」ばれると言います。人の評価はなかなか変わらないものでしょう。一度貼られたレッテルを剥がすのも容易ではありません。しかし、かつてイエスは、一介の漁師シモンをケパ（ペテロ）と呼びました。そしてペテロが想像しえなかった新しい人生が始まりました。神はことばで、創造されるお方です。神が「光りよ、あれ」と語れば、光が生じる。無から有が生まれる。ですから、その神があなたの傍にいるのなら、もはやあなたは「見捨てられた」「荒れ果てている」とも言われることはないでしょう、となります（4節）。かつて東京大学の総長であった矢内原忠雄さんは自身の著書の中でこの個所を解説し「日本流では「悦子」とでもいうところ」と語っています。つまり、神は、あなたを妻とし、あなたを「喜び」とする、と言うのです。まさに、花婿が花嫁に夢中になるように、あなたは大事にされるし、価値ある者とされる。作り物の神にこのようなことはできない。しかし、聖書のまことの神は、作り物ではない。これまでイザヤは偶像崇拝を戒めてきました。そして、かくも温かい血の流れる、作り物とは違うまことの神の語り掛けがあることを伝えています。ためらわず、この神が語ることに耳を傾け、信仰を抱け、なのです。
2．行動を起こせ
ですから、イザヤは、6節「黙っていてはならない」、7節「主を休ませてはならない」と言います。神ご自身が、「わたしは黙っていない。その救いが、たいまつのように燃えるまでは（1節）」と言うのですから、その神のことばに応じよ、ということでしょう。私と一緒にやろう、人生はこれからだ、これからは私と一緒に生きるのだ、と神は、温かく語り掛けるのです。
8-9節、10-12節、神の二つの約束が語られます。「わたしはあなたの穀物を、再び敵に食物として与えない。あなたが労して作った新しいぶどう酒を、異国の民が飲むことはない」もはや、これからの人生において、あなたの労苦に無駄はない、ということでしょう。労した実が他人に取られ、残りカスを受けている、と思わされて来たなら、もうそのように思うようなことはさせない、と妻に語り聞かせる夫の決意がそこにあります。労した実は、労した者が第一に受け取るべきであると。公正さを示す神が、私たちに誓うのです。10節、「通れ、通れ、城門を」は、直接的にはバビロン捕囚からの帰還を想定したものなのでしょう。しかしこれまでの解釈の流れからすれば、これもイエスに始まった今日のキリスト教会全体に向けて語り掛けることばとして理解できます。いや、ここはもっと個人的に、今の私に語り掛けることばとして受け止めてもよいのかもしれません。「見よ、あなたの救いが来る」そのように語り掛ける、まことの神の愛に素直に感謝し、信仰の応答をもって歩むこととしましょう。では今日も良き一日となるように祈ります。

Chapter 62: Given a New Name
- the Etsuko（child of Joy） of God
Verse 1: “For Zion’s sake I will not be silent. I will not be silent for Jerusalem’s sake. Until his righteousness shines brightly and his salvation burns like a torch,” are God’s powerful words of encouragement. These are God’s words that deeply move our hearts. Faith is nothing but accepting and trusting God’s voice. We should not keep saying to ourselves, “I am a dead tree, I have lost everything, I am old, I am falling apart, what hope do I have? Listen to the voice of God, verse 2, which says that God will “call you by a new name. People’s evaluations can be hard to change. It is not easy to remove a label once it is attached. However, Jesus once called Simon, a fisherman, Kepha (Peter). And so began a new life that Peter could never have imagined. God is the Word, the Creator. When God says, “Let there be light,” light comes forth. Out of nothing, something is born. Therefore, if that God is with you, you will no longer be said to be “forsaken” or “desolate,” and so on (v. 4). Tadao Yanaihara, once president of the University of Tokyo, explained this passage in his book and said, “In the Japanese way, it is called ‘Etsuko (Child of Joy). In other words, God takes you as his wife and makes you his “delight. Exactly as a bridegroom is enamored of his bride, so you are cherished and made worthy. A made-up God cannot do this. But the true God of the Bible is not a figment. So far Isaiah has warned against idolatry. And he tells us that there is a true God who speaks to us, who is warm-blooded and not a figment. Do not hesitate to listen to what God says and have faith in Him.
2. take action
So Isaiah says in verse 6, “Do not be silent,” and in verse 7, “Do not let the Lord rest. God Himself says, “I will not be silent, for I am the LORD your God. God himself says, “I will not be silent, until his salvation burns like a torch (v. 1),” so I guess he means that we should respond to his word. Let’s do it with me,” God warmly tells us, “Life is just beginning, and from now on you will live with me.
In verses 8-9 and 10-12, two promises of God are spoken. I will not give your grain again to your enemies for food. The new wine that you have labored to make will not be drunk by the peoples of the foreign lands. If you have been led to believe that the fruit of your labor has been taken by others and you are receiving the leftovers, there is the determination of the husband who tells his wife that he will no longer allow her to feel that way. The fruit of our labor should be received first by those who have labored. The God of fairness swears to us that verse 10, “pass, pass, pass through the gates,” may directly refer to the return from the Babylonian captivity. However, in the context of the previous interpretations, this can also be understood as a word that speaks to the entire Christian church today, beginning with Jesus. Or perhaps we can take it more personally, as words that speak to me today. Let us give thanks for the love of the true God who says to us, “Behold, your salvation is coming,” and let us walk with the response of faith. I pray that today will be another good day.
