1．周辺諸国への裁きの宣告
この26章から28章までがツロに対する預言です。ツロはパレスチナ北部の地中海岸沿いに位置するフェニキアの商業都市です。
第11年は、エホヤキンの捕囚から、つまりゼデキヤの即位後11年でしょう。「その月の一日」は、おそらく第11の月の一日のことで、エルサレム滅亡は第12年の初期と考えられているので、B586年早々、エルサレム陥落の数か月後になります（エレミヤ52:5、12）。神のことばがエゼキエルに与えられますが、その内容は、ネブカドネツァルの包囲とツロの完全な荒廃を預言するものでした。
エルサレムが陥落した時に、ツロは、それを喜びました（2節）。というのも、当時のエルサレムは、国際通商路に位置し、独自の通行税を課し多くの収入を得ていましたので、その利権が、自分たちのものとなったからです。もはやエルサレムに集中していた財は、北方のツロに直接流れ込み、ツロが豊かになるのです。エルサレム陥落の知らせに、捕囚の民は心を痛めましたが、ツロはこれを密かに喜んだのです。
しかし昨日も言いましたように、神の裁きは、神の正しさを示し、エルサレムを聖めるためのもの、エルサレム憎しと神の怒りの鉄槌を下すものではありませんでした。神の意図を理解しないツロの人々を、神はお喜びにならなかったのです。
人は、世の栄枯盛衰を見ながら、あれやこれやと自分のチャンスを考えるものでしょう。商売敵が敗れ去れば、ほくそ笑み、それを機に、自分の貪欲な夢を馳せることもあるものです。しかし、神は人の心を見るお方であり、そのような薄汚い心がこの世に蔓延することなどお喜びにはなりません。神は、天と地を創造された時に、これを美しく仕上げ、これをよしとされ、そこに人を置かれました。人は当然、その美しい大自然に相応しい心をもって、生きるものとされているのです。神は機会に乗じて貪欲な心を露わにし、エルサレムから略奪するツロに裁きを宣告されます。
2．網干し場となる
ツロは、海の中の岩島の上に建設された貿易の町として栄えていました。しかしその町は、徹底的に破壊されて、ただの岩だらけの場、裸岩と化してしまうと言います。新改訳第三版で「網を引く」と訳されたミシュトアハーが、新改訳2017の訳では「網干し場」と修正されました（14節）。どちらの意味にも取れることばですが、裸岩にするという表現と合わせて考えるなら、「網干し場」という訳語の方が、イメージがわく、意味の通りやすい自然な訳になります。つまり、貿易とサービスで豊かに栄えた町が、徹底的に破壊され裸岩となって、もはや原始的に網を打って漁をする以外に稼ぎの手段のない町となってしまう、ということです。また、ヘブル語で裸岩はサラで、町の名ツロとの語呂合わせがあると言います。いささか皮肉る意味もあるのでしょう。
15節以降、繰り返されることは、ツロとその周辺の国々が跡形もなく破壊されてしまうことです。もはや、それは再生できず、永久に失われるのです。まさに大洪水が、町を襲い、飲み尽くし、跡形もなくすべてを押し流していくイメージです（19節）。ですから「豊かな」と訳されたラビイムも「溢れる」という訳の方が良いのかもしれません。ともあれ、永久に滅びるツロに対して、再生されるエルサレム、この対比をエゼキエルは伝えようとしています。神のエルサレムに対する裁きは、神の愛の鞭、人々がこれによって神を知るためのものです。そうであれば、いかなる災いが襲おうとも、神の民は神の御心を思い、へこたれてはいけません。神を信頼して、先に進むことを考えることです。神は、あなたの味方であり、あなたの支え手です。しかし、ただ甘い神ではない。厳しくもあなたの母なる神なのです。では今日も良き一日となるように祈ります。

Chapter 26: Declaration of Judgment against Turo
1. pronouncement of judgment on the surrounding nations
Chapters 26 through 28 are a prophecy against Turo. Turo is a Phoenician commercial city located along the Mediterranean coast in northern Palestine.
The eleventh year would be from the captivity of Jehoiachin, i.e., eleven years after Zedekiah’s accession to the throne. The “one day of that month” probably refers to a day in the eleventh month, and since the destruction of Jerusalem is considered early in the twelfth year, early in B586, a few months after the fall of Jerusalem (Jeremiah 52:5, 12). The Word of God is given to Ezekiel, which prophesies the siege of Nebuchadnezzar and the complete desolation of Turo.
When Jerusalem fell, Tullo rejoiced in it (v. 2). This was because Jerusalem at that time was located on an international trade route, and had earned a lot of revenue from its own toll taxes, so the concession was now theirs. The wealth that was no longer concentrated in Jerusalem flowed directly to Turo in the north, making Turo richer. The news of the fall of Jerusalem broke the hearts of the captives, but Turo secretly rejoiced over it.
But as I said yesterday, God’s judgment was not to demonstrate His righteousness and sanctify Jerusalem, or to bring down the hammer of His hatred of Jerusalem and His wrath. God was not pleased with the people of Turo who did not understand His intentions.
One would think of one’s opportunities for this or that as one watches the rise and fall of the world. They may gloat over the defeat of a business rival and use it as an opportunity to pursue their own covetous dreams. But God sees the hearts of men, and He is not pleased with the spread of such filthy minds in the world. When God created the heavens and the earth, He made them beautiful and placed man in them. Man is naturally supposed to live with a heart worthy of that beautiful wilderness. God pronounces judgment on Turo, who takes advantage of the opportunity to reveal his greedy heart and plunder Jerusalem.
2. becoming a place to dry nets
Turo was a prosperous trading town built on a rocky island in the sea. However, the city is said to be thoroughly destroyed and turned into a mere rocky place, a bare rock. Misht’ahah, translated “drawing nets” in the Shinkai-yaku Version 3, has been corrected to “drying place” in the Shinkai-yaku 2017 translation (v. 14). The word can be taken in either sense, but when considered in conjunction with the expression “to make bare rock,” the translation “a place to dry nets” is a more natural translation that is more imaginative and easier to make sense of. In other words, a town that had prospered richly in trade and services would be so thoroughly destroyed that it would become a bare rock, with no other means of earning money than by fishing with primitive nets. The Hebrew word for bare rock is sarah, which is also said to be a pun on the name of the town, Turo. It may be meant somewhat ironically.
What is repeated from verse 15 onward is that Turo and the surrounding nations will be destroyed without a trace. It can no longer be regenerated; it is lost forever. This is the very image of a great flood that strikes the city, swallows it up, and sweeps everything away without a trace (v. 19). So perhaps the rabbi’im translated “abundance” would be better translated “overflow. At any rate, Ezekiel is trying to convey this contrast between Turo, which will be destroyed forever, and Jerusalem, which will be regenerated. God’s judgment on Jerusalem is a whip of God’s love, that people may know God by it. Then, no matter what calamity strikes, God’s people must think of God’s will and not be daunted. Trust in God and think about moving on. God is your ally and your sustainer. But He is not just a sweet God. He is strictly your Mother God. I wish you a good day today.
