1．主に雨を求めよ
ゼカリヤは「主に雨を求めよ、後の雨の時に（1節）」と語り掛けます。後の雨とは、季節的には、春に降る雨のことで、イスラエルではちょうど穀物の穂を実らせる、収穫のための雨とされています。それは、率直に豊かな収穫を求めさせるものです。既に神は、「穀物は若い男たちを、新しいぶどう酒は若い女たちを栄えさせる」（9:17）と約束しましたが、捕囚から帰ってきた神の民が、エルサレムの地で実際にその祝福を求め、手にしていくように勧めているのです。
続いて2節、これは過去を振り返って語っていることなのでしょう。あなたがたは、テラフィムを使い、占い、偶像崇拝に陥り、道を迷ってしまった。だから神の怒りが支配者たち、宗教家たちに下された。しかしそれはもう過去のことだ。豊穣をもたらすのはバアル神ではない、主ご自身である。人間が木や石で作った守り神によるものではない。また単純な人間の計画性や努力によるものでもない。神の恵みによるのだ。主にこそ後の雨を求めよ、というわけです。
そして、主は重ねて約束します「彼らは、わたしに捨てられなかった者のようになる（6節）」。神はこれからの祝福のために過去を忘れてくださる、と言うのです。愛は人のした悪を思わず、まさに、神は、もはや何事もなかったかのように、私たちの人生に向かい合ってくださるのです。そのような意味では、まず神の前に思うことがあるならば、罪の告白をし、赦していただくこととしましょう。そして、神の赦しを受けて前を向き、先へ先へと進むことです。後ろを振り返るな！です。既に先に進んでいる神を見失わないように、祝福の道を進まれる神についてまいりましょう。
2．主の贖いに基づく
そして、神がどうして、私たちをそのように扱われるのか、その理由をはっきりと理解し、喜ぶことが大切です。4節は、色々と議論のあるところですが、私はメシヤ預言的に解釈してこそ、意味が通じる個所だと思います。「かしら石」はイエスのことであると。ですから、9章以降、メシヤを意図する内容が、脈々と語られているのであり、なぜ「捨てられなかった者のようになる」かと言えば、それは8節「贖ったからだ」、つまり、イエスの十字架による罪の赦しがなされるからだ、とつながるわけです。捕囚の民に対するメッセージの中に、ずっとメシヤ預言的な内容が重ねて語られているわけです。
「曲がったものはもはや真っ直ぐにはならない」これは一つの真理でしょう。私たちが罪を犯せばその結果はついて回るものです。神は御忘れになると語ったとしても世間は忘れないものであったりします。また私たちの心もなかなか忘れないものです。しかし、本当は、神がお忘れになるというのだから、私たちも一緒に忘れてよいものなのです。そして心が責められることがあるのなら、よい意味で、戒め、教訓とすることです。余計な重荷はもう下ろしましょう。そしてむしろ、目指す神の国のビジョンから目をそらさぬことです。実は、痛みや反省があればこそ、目標もそれに向かう歩みも現実的、堅実なものとなるはずです。失敗する前とは違う、確実な目標、謙虚な目標、しっかりとした目標に向かって、「主の名によって歩き続け」ましょう。そして、「主にあって大いに楽しむ」歩みをさせていただきたいものです。

Zechariah 10: The Lord is the Source of Blessings
1. ask the Lord for rain
Zechariah says, “Ask the LORD for rain in the latter rain (v. 1). The latter rain, seasonally, refers to the rain that falls in the spring, which in Israel is just the rain for harvest, to bring forth ears of grain. It is what makes us want a frankly abundant harvest. God has already promised that “the grain will prosper the young men, and the new wine the young women” (9:17), and He encourages His people who have returned from captivity to actually seek and obtain that blessing in the land of Jerusalem.
Then verse 2, which is probably speaking in retrospect of the past. You have gone astray, using teraphim, divining, and falling into idolatry. So the wrath of God came upon the rulers and the religious people. But that is now past. It is not Baal, but the Lord Himself who brings about a bountiful harvest. It is not by a guardian deity made of wood or stone by man. Nor by simple human planning or effort. It is by God’s grace. So it is to the Lord that we must seek the latter rain.
And the Lord promises over and over again, “They will be like those who were not abandoned by me (v. 6). He says that God will forget the past for the sake of future blessings. Love does not think of the evil that people have done, but precisely, God faces our lives as if nothing had happened to us anymore. In this sense, let us first confess our sins and ask for forgiveness if we have any thoughts before God. Then, with God’s forgiveness, we are to look forward and move onward. Do not look back! It is. Let us not lose sight of God who is already moving ahead of us, and let us follow Him on the path of blessing.
2. based on His redemption
Verse 4 is a controversial passage, but I think it makes sense only if we interpret it in terms of the Messianic prophecy. The “capstone” is Jesus. Therefore, from chapter 9 onward, the Messiah is mentioned in a continuous stream, and the reason why he “will be like those who were not abandoned” is because he “redeemed” them in verse 8, that is, the forgiveness of sins through the cross of Jesus is made. In the message to the captives, the Messianic prophecy is repeated throughout.
What is crooked will no longer be made straight. If we sin, there will be consequences. Even though God says He will forget, the world does not forget. And our hearts don’t forget either. But the truth is that since God says He forgets, we can forget with Him. And if our hearts are ever reproached, in a good way, we should take it as a reminder and a lesson. Let us lay down no more unnecessary burdens. And rather, do not turn away from the vision of the Kingdom of God that we are striving for. In fact, it is only through pain and reflection that our goals and our steps toward them will be realistic and solid. Let us “keep walking in the name of the Lord” toward goals that are sure, humble, and firm, different from those we had before we failed. And let us walk “having much fun in the Lord.
