1．神の戒め
1節、「精一杯大声で叫べ。角笛のように声をあげよ。わたしの民に彼らの背きを、ヤコブの家にその罪を告げよ」わかっているようでわからないのが自分の罪です。それは、角笛のように耳を突き刺すように語られる、つまり不快な経験ではあっても、はっきり指摘されることで気づくこともあるものです。57章では偶像礼拝の罪が語られましたが、ここ58章では、まことの神に礼拝を献げても、それを偽善的、形式的に献げる罪の問題が指摘されています。ゼカリヤ書を読むと、イスラエル人たちは、定期的に時を定め断食をし、そのように神に自分を献げることを誇りとしていたことがわかります（ゼカリヤ7:5、8:19）。しかし、神はそのような断食を喜んではおられません（3節）。自分では自分の信仰についても奉仕についてもよくやっていると誇りにしている。しかし神はそのようには受け止めてはおられない。というのも、それらは、神に対するものではなくて、人に見せるためのものであったりするからです。結果、奉仕者はそれぞれ互いにどれほどできているかを監視し、さばき合い、争うものとなっている、と指摘します。なんとも、現代の信仰者にも耳痛いことかもしれません。他教会はこうしている、ああしている、と教会の足りない点をあげつらい、教会を信仰的にしようと言う。しかし、そのような人に限って、色々な教会の人とは結びついていても、神には結びついていないことがあるものです。自分の信仰熱心さを人に認めさせようとする、人間的な信仰の問題です。
2．神の期待
神が期待する礼拝や断食は、聖日の数時間の宗教行為ではなく、日々の日常の姿勢です（6節）。新約の使徒パウロも言いました。「あなたがたのからだを、神に喜ばれる、聖なる生きたささげ物として献げなさい。それこそ、あなたがたにふさわしい礼拝です。（ローマ12:1）」自分自身が、いかに神のことばを心に留め、神のことばに生きていくか、いわゆる礼拝的な生活に自らが取り組んでいるかどうか、が大事なのです。それによって教会の雰囲気も変わって来るのです。実際、6節、不正な取り扱いを受けている奴隷や、虐げられた者、また欠乏している者や弱められている者へに心を配り、家族に思いやりを持つ、このようなことが勧められていますが、それらをしたので、誰かに感謝される、褒められるなど少しも考えない。人が同じようにしているかなど関心がない。ただ自らこのようにせよという神のことばに生きることに、満足と喜びを見出している、そして神に感謝している、それが自然に人への励ましにもなる。これが神に生きる人、成熟した信仰者です（11節）。
しかし、信仰的に未熟な人は、その逆です。神のことばに生きることの賞賛を人に求めます、励ましを求めます。感謝を求めます。しかもそのような自己愛型の奉仕をしている現実に気づかないでいたりします。信仰は、気づきが無ければ始まりません。神の恵みと憐れみによって自身のそのような偽善的、形式的信仰の在り方の罪に気付かされる、自分が抜け出すべき愚かさの現実に気付かされる、そしてそこから抜け出す力を主が与えてくださることに気付いていくことです（11節）。神は、罪を指摘されるだけではない、正しい道を歩む力を与えてくださるお方です。そこに人は気づかねばならないし、心を向けなくてはならない。そうすれば、本当に満たされた信仰生活が付いてきます。
礼拝は、主の創造（出エジプト20:11）と主の贖い（申命5:15）を覚え、新しい一週のために整えられる特別な日です。それは、喜びの日であり、主を喜ぶことが私たちの力であることを確認する栄えある日です。その満たしによって、今週も神のことばに従っていくのだ、と燃やされていきたいものです。そのような者を神は確かに「地の高い所」（申命32:13）を歩ませてくださるのです。では今日も良き一日となるように祈ります。

Chapter 58 The Lord Who Exalts
1. the commandments of God
Verse 1, “Shout as loudly as you can. Lift up your voice like a horn. Tell my people their transgressions, and the house of Jacob their sins. In chapter 57, the sin of idolatry was mentioned, and here in chapter 58, the sin of offering worship to the true God in a hypocritical and formal way is pointed out. The book of Zechariah reveals that the Israelites regularly fasted at set times and took pride in presenting themselves to God in this way (Zechariah 7:5; 8:19). But God is not pleased with such fasting (v. 3). He is proud that he is doing well, both in his faith and in his service. But God does not take it that way. This is because they are sometimes not meant for God, but for people to see. As a result, he points out, the servants monitor, judge, and contend with each other to see how well they are doing. This may sound painful to the modern believer. They criticize other churches for their shortcomings and say that they are trying to make their churches more faithful. However, only such a person may be connected to people in various churches but not to God. It is a matter of human faith, trying to get people to recognize one’s own religious zeal.
2. God’s Expectations
God’s expectation of worship and fasting is not a religious act for a few hours on a holy day, but a daily routine attitude (v. 6). The New Testament apostle Paul also said. Present your bodies as a living and holy offering, pleasing to God. That is the worship that is proper for you (Romans 12:1). It is important that we ourselves take the Word of God to heart and live by the Word of God, whether or not we are engaged in what is called a worshipful life. This will change the atmosphere of the church. In fact, in verse 6, it is recommended to be mindful of slaves who are treated unjustly, the oppressed, and those who are lacking or weak, and to be compassionate to their families, but because you have done these things, you do not think for a moment that someone will be grateful or praise you. You don’t care if others are doing the same. You find satisfaction and joy in living God’s word to do this on your own, and you are thankful to God, which naturally becomes an encouragement to others. this is the person who lives in God, a mature believer (v. 11).
But the opposite is true for the faithfully immature. They seek praise from others for living in God’s Word, they seek encouragement. They seek thanksgiving what they did. Moreover, they may be unaware of the reality of such self-loving service. Faith does not begin without awareness. It is through God’s grace and mercy that we are made aware of our own sins of hypocritical and formalistic faith, the reality of the foolishness from which we need to get out, and that the Lord will give us the strength to get out of it (v. 11). God is the One who not only points out sin, but also gives us the strength to walk in the right path. That is what one must realize and turn one’s heart to. Then a truly fulfilling life of faith will follow.
Worship is a special day to remember His creation (Ex. 20:11) and His redemption (Deut. 5:15) and to be prepared for a new week. It is a day of rejoicing, a glorious day that confirms that rejoicing in the Lord is our strength. We want to be fueled by its fullness, and we want to be fueled by the fact that we will follow the Word of God this week. God will surely make such a person walk “on the high places of the earth” (Deut. 32:13). I pray that you have a good day today.
