出エジプト記38章 調度類の作成
1．祭壇、洗盤、庭（38:1-23）
37章に続いて、幕屋の調度類について作り上げた報告です。すべて、神の御命令どおりに作られたことを証言しています。多少表現の違いはありますが、まるで、判を押したかのように、忠実に作るべきものが作られたことが報告されています。
それは信仰の歩みを象徴するようなものです。聖日を守りなさいと神に命じられる。判を押すかのように忠実に守る。そして守ったことを神に報告する。朝ごとにいけにえを献げよと神に命じられる。だから朝ごとに、神の御前に出て、聖書を読み、心を献げ、祈りをする。そしてこれを神に報告する。隣人を愛せよと聖書に語られているので、身近な兄弟姉妹に対する自然な愛を注ぎ込む。そして神に報告する。信仰の歩みは、そのように神が語っておられることを、忠実に守り行う地味なものでしょう。
しかし、そのような部分に意義を感じていたり、そのような部分が人の信仰を大きく成熟させると考えていたりする人は少ないものかもしれません。22節、「ベツァルエルは、主がモーセに命じられたことを、ことごとく行った。」とあります。まず朝ごとに神のみこころを探り、夕ごとに一日の働きを神に報告する、そんな愚直な歩みを重ねたいところではないでしょうか。
2．聖所設営のコスト（38:24-31）
24節からは奉献物に用いられた金の総量が記録されています。用いられた金の総量は、29タラントと730シェケル。1タラントは約34キログラムで、1シェケルは11.4グラムですから、合計約950キログラム、ほとんど1トン近い量になります。銀は、合計100タラント1775シェケル。約3400キログラム、約3.5トンです。大切なのは、これらが、ひとり当たり1ベカ、つまり聖所のシェケルの半シェケルであって、すべて20歳以上の登録された者たちから集められたという形で記録されている点です（26節）。誰かが大きく寄進したわけではありません。それは皆が平等に献げたもののトータルであるかのように書かれています。それによって幕屋が建ったと。
3．皆の力を結集する
銀の台座は100個作られ、それに用いられた銀は100タラント、つまり1タラントで1個の台座が作られています。1タラントでは用をなさないとしても、1タラント持っている者が100人集まったら、幕屋の備品として必要な100個の台座が作れるわけです。しかし10タラント与えられている人が一人それを誇って献げてみても、幕屋に必要とする100個の台座は作れません。やはり、皆の協力のもとに、幕屋全体の必要を満たすことを考える必要があります。多く与えられた者も少なく与えられた者も、共に力を合わせて、神の召しに応じて、そのタラントを生かせば、教会は建てあがっていくのです。
日本の宣教を大いに進ませるために必要とされるのは、より多くのタラントのある人を求め、担ぎ出し、その人の力で物事を動かすことではありません。少ないタラントの人と多くのタラントを持った人、皆の心が結集されて、祈りをもって建て上げられていくものなのです。
4．神の計画に従う
神のご計画に従って、共に力を合わせながら自分の持てるものを生かしていく。そのような意味ではもっともっと一人一人が教会の働きに関心を持つことです。聖書を読みながら、教会がどのようなものか、どのように成長するのか、そして自分は、その全体の中でどのような役割を果たすのか、そのために何から始めたらよいのか、そのようなことを考えながら、誠実に関わって行くことです。そして判を押したように、神に命じられたとおりにしました、と神に報告する一日を持つことでしょう。
礼拝に集うことも、ただ出席し、自分の席を守ること自体が神の必要を満たすのです。判を押したように礼拝に集う人がいること自体が、教会の士気を高め、牧師や他の信徒を励ますことがあります。大切なのは自分を何か大きな者であるかのように考えないことでしょう。神の小さなしもべとしてなすべきことをなしたいものです。

Making the Furnishings (Exodus 38)
- The Altar, Basin, and Courtyard (38:1-23)
Following chapter 37, this chapter reports the making of the Tabernacle furnishings. Everything was made exactly as God commanded, showing their faithfulness. The detailed reports confirm that they followed God’s instructions precisely.
This represents a life of faith. God commands us to keep the holy days, and we faithfully follow, reporting back to Him. God commands us to offer sacrifices every morning, so we read the Bible, dedicate our hearts, and pray each morning. The Bible tells us to love our neighbors, so we show natural love to those around us, and then report back to God. This faithful adherence to God’s words is the essence of faith.
However, few people appreciate or believe that such faithful practices mature their faith significantly. In verse 22, it says, “Bezalel did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses.” It’s important to start each day seeking God’s will and end each day reporting our work to Him.
- The Cost of Setting Up the Sanctuary (38:24-31)
From verse 24, the total amount of gold used is recorded. The total gold used was 29 talents and 730 shekels. One talent is about 34 kilograms, and one shekel is 11.4 grams, totaling about 950 kilograms, nearly one ton. The total silver used was 100 talents and 1,775 shekels, about 3,400 kilograms, or about 3.5 tons. Importantly, these were collected from everyone registered over the age of 20 at half a shekel per person (verse 26). It shows that the Tabernacle was built through the combined contributions of all. - Combining Everyone’s Efforts
They made 100 silver bases, each weighing one talent. While one talent may not suffice, gathering 100 people with one talent each allows for the 100 bases needed for the Tabernacle. Even if one person boasts of giving 10 talents, it won’t meet the need for 100 bases. It requires everyone’s cooperation to meet the entire need. Those with many talents and those with few must work together, using their talents for the church’s growth.
To advance missions in Japan, it’s not about relying on a few talented individuals but bringing everyone’s hearts together to build through prayer and unity.
- Following God’s Plan
Following God’s plan involves everyone using their abilities and working together. Everyone should take an interest in the church’s work, understanding how it grows and their role in it. This means sincerely engaging and reporting to God each day, saying, “I did as You commanded.”
