1. 背景
一読して、おや、既に読んだことがある、と気づいた人もいるでしょう。そうです。詩篇14篇とほぼ同じです。ただ、これをヘブル語の原語で読むと、神名が違います。14篇では「ヤーウェイ」が、本篇では「エロヒーム」が使われています。第二巻は、学問的にエロヒーム詩篇集とも言われ、神名にエロヒームが使われているものが集められていることをお話しました。詩篇には、このようにいくつかの系統があるので、それを合本にしたために、このような重複ができたと考えられています。また、ヤーウェイは、どちらかというとイスラエルの民にとって重要な神名です。それがより一般的なエロヒームに替えられたのは、この詩がより公の場で読まれたことを意味しているとも言われます。学問的な議論はそこまでにして、さっそくこの詩そのものを読み味わってみましょう。
14篇は、アブシャロムが謀反を起こし、勢力を増し加えた時、あるいは、ダビデの生涯には記録のない非常に不運な出来事のあった時に詠まれた、と考えられています。復習になりますが、14篇では、意図的に神に心を閉ざす愚か者が、神の民を食い物にし、苦しめ、その計画を踏みにじっていく状況が語られました。そして神はそれを赦さないのだ、と言います。後に使徒パウロは、それをローマ人の手紙に引用しています。そして、そのような愚か者というのは、誰か特定の人たちではなく、全人類なのだ、としているのです。皆人は、自分を棚に上げて他人を愚か者と見る愚か者である。つまり罪人なのだから、いつでもキリストの十字架の恵みによって神に救われる、受け入れられることが大切なのだ、とパウロは言いたかったわけです。
2．53篇の特徴
さて、詩篇53篇が削除されなかった意図を考えましょう。それは、私的に作られたものが、後に公用にするため書き改められたとされています。後の時代に書き改められたのですから、幾分その時代を反映した修正もありうるとなります。確かに読み比べてみると、小さな表現で異なる部分はいくつかありますが、大きく違うのは5節です。それは、より具体的、結果的な書き方になっています。つまり、14篇では、愚か者に対して、まだ事が起こっていませんが、53篇では愚か者に何事かが起こっている、その結果が書かれています。ダビデの個人的な後日談があったのか、あるいは、53篇の編者が後の時代に経験したことを、踏まえてそのように修正した、のかわかりません。つまり、53篇は、ヨシャパテ王の時代、アンモン人とモアブ人の同盟が壊滅させられた事件（2歴代誌20:22-24）を背景としている。あるいは、エリシャの時代、アラムの軍隊が、神の超自然的なはからいで敗退させられた事件（2列王7:6，7）などを背景として修整されたとも言われています。3．願望から経験へ
大切なのは、信仰は、願望ではない、ということです。祈りで願われたことはやがて経験されるのです。祈りにおいては、実際に神の力を味わうまでに至ることが大切なのです。
ある雑誌に、なぜ語学学習産業が成り立っているのか、ということが書かれていました。それによると、将来ぺらぺらと外国語が話せるようになることを夢見ていても、決してその夢がかなわない人たちがいるからだ、と言うのです。なるほど、説得力のある記事でした。しかし、キリスト教信仰も同じようなものとして考えられているとしたら、それは随分と残念なことです。やはり信仰においては、確かに神の救いと勝利を経験しなくてはなりません。「ああ、イスラエルの救いがシオンから来るように」と神に叫び、確かに、「神が、あなたに対して陣を張る者の骨をまき散らされたからだ。あなたは彼らをはずかしめた。それは神が彼らを捨てられたからだ」（5節）と勝利を宣言させてもらいましょう。
4．確信をもって歩む
悪人ばかり成功し、真っ正直に生きる自分の人生は全くぱっとしない、神を信じても意味がない、そんな風に考えてはなりません。やはり信仰を持つなら、確かに神の救いと勝利を経験したいところです。ですからそのように思う人はこう祈りましょう。「神よ、私はまだあなたの救いを経験していません。私はあなたの勝利を頂いていません。」「神はいないと言われている人達の中で、私は、神がおられることを何も示すことができていません」自分は霊的な破産者である、そんな現実を素直に訴えるのです。そして、ひたすら神の力を仰ぐ、そして神の力を実際に味わうのです。漠然と神を信じるのではなく、確実に神の助け、祝福を味わう人生へと歩ませていただきましょう。

Psalm 53: Living in Faithful Experience, Not Wishful Thinking
1. background
Some of you may have read it and realized, oh, I’ve already read it. Yes, you have. It is almost the same as Psalm 14. However, when you read it in the original Hebrew, the name of God is different: “Yahweh” is used in Psalm 14, and “Elohim” is used in this Psalm. I mentioned that the second volume, also known academically as the Elohim Psalter, is a collection of those that use Elohim as God’s name. It is believed that the Psalms have several lines of descent, and that this duplication is due to the fact that the Psalms were combined into a single volume. Also, Yahweh is rather an important divine name for the Israelites. That it was replaced by the more common Elohim is also said to mean that the poem was read more publicly. Leaving the academic discussion at that, let us quickly read and savor the psalm itself.
Psalm 14 is thought to have been composed at a time when Abshalom rebelled and increased his power, or at a time of very unfortunate events that are not recorded in David’s life. As a recap, Psalm 14 told of a situation in which a fool who deliberately closed his heart to God preyed on, tormented, and trampled on the plans of God’s people. And God does not forgive them, he says. Later the apostle Paul quoted it in his letter to the Romans. And he says that such fools are not any particular people, but the whole human race. Everyone is a fool who puts himself on the shelf and sees others as fools. Paul was saying that since we are sinners, it is always important to be saved and accepted by God through the grace of the cross of Christ.
2. the characteristics of Psalm 53
Now let us consider the intent of Psalm 53, which was not deleted. It is said to have been composed privately and later rewritten for public use. Since it was rewritten in a later period, it is possible that some of the revisions may have been made to reflect that period. Certainly, when comparing the two readings, there are some small differences in wording, but the major difference is in verse 5. It is written in a more specific and consequential manner. That is, in Psalm 14, things have not yet happened to the fool, but in Psalm 53, something has happened to the fool, and the result is written. I don’t know if David had a personal story to tell, or if the compiler of Psalm 53 modified it in light of what he experienced in later times. In other words, Psalm 53 is set against the background of the destruction of the alliance between the Ammonites and the Moabites in the time of King Joshapate (2 Chronicles 20:22-24). Or, it is also said that they were modified against the background of the incident in the time of Elisha, when the army of Aram was defeated by the supernatural agency of God (2 Kings 7:6, 7), and so on.
3. from desire to experience
The important thing to remember is that faith is not a desire. What is desired in prayer is eventually experienced. In prayer, it is important to actually experience the power of God.
One magazine wrote about why the language learning industry exists. According to the article, it is because there are people who dream of speaking a foreign language fluently in the future, but their dreams never come true. Well, it was a very convincing article. However, it would be a shame if the Christian faith is considered in the same way. After all, in faith, we must certainly experience God’s salvation and victory. We must cry out to God, “Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come from Zion,” and surely, “For God has scattered the bones of those who have encamped against you. Thou hast made a mockery of them. Let them declare victory, “For God has abandoned them” (v. 5).
4. walk with confidence
Don’t think that only bad people succeed and that your life is meaningless even if you believe in God. After all, if you have faith, you certainly want to experience God’s salvation and victory. If you think so, pray like this: “O God, I have not yet experienced your salvation. I have not received your victory.” I am among those who are told there is no God, and I have nothing to show that God is there. He then looks up to God’s power, and actually tastes God’s power. Let us not vaguely believe in God, but let us walk into a life in which we can surely experience God’s help and blessings.
