１．手放すことの意味
今日は聖書の中でも、とても興味深いテーマを取り上げます。それは、「手放すことの意味」です。
例えば、スマートフォンやゲーム、ブランド品など、「これだけは絶対に手放せない！」と感じるものが誰にでもあるでしょう。しかし、聖書はこう語っています。「本当に豊かな人生は、何かを握りしめることではなく、惜しみなく差し出すことから始まる」と。そして今回は、歴代誌第一29章を一緒に読んでいきましょう。
2．本章の構造
まず、この章の流れを簡単に整理しましょう。
第一に、「献金の呼びかけと応答」（1〜9節）があります。ダビデ王は神殿建設のために自ら多くを捧げ、民にも献金を呼びかけます。そして驚くべきことに、民も嫌々ではなく、心から自発的に喜んで応えました。
次に、「ダビデの祈り」（10～19節）が続きます。この祈りには、賛美、感謝、告白、祈願が含まれています。ダビデは、神の主権を認め、すべてが神から与えられていることを告白し、民の心が神に向かうように願いました。
そして三つ目に、「ソロモンの即位と民の喜び」（20〜30節）が語られます。王座はダビデ自身が用意したものではなく、神が備えられたものでした。歴代誌は、繰り返し「神のなさること」に目を向けるよう私たちに促しています。
2．重要ポイント
この章が伝えようとしている大切なことを見ていきましょう。
1）献げる心は信仰のバロメーター
まず、ダビデは金3000タラント、銀7000タラントを献げました（歴代誌第一29:4）。ここで大切なのは「金額」ではなく、「どんな心で献げているか」という点です。聖書で語られる献金は、額の多さよりも、その人の心や動機が大事なのです。新興宗教やカルトのように「献げないと救われない」「献げなければ不幸になる」といった恐怖や取引によるものではありません。聖書は「すべてはあなたから出たのであり、私たちは御手から出たものをあなたに献げたにすぎません。」（歴代誌第一29:14）と感謝や喜びの心から献げることを大切にしています。神が家族を幸せにし、十分に与えてくださっていることへの感謝という「信仰の応答」が献金なのです。
2）神の主権と人間の従属
ダビデの祈りは「主よ。王国もあなたのものです」（11節）という言葉から始まります。つまり、王であるダビデでさえ、自分の力ではなく、神の支配を認めていたのです。成功や繁栄は人間の力だけでなく、神のあわれみによるものだという考え方は、現代の私たちにも通じる大切な視点です。
3）心を守る祈り
ダビデが願ったのは自分自身の祝福ではなく、民とソロモンが忠実であるように、心が神に向くことでした。「彼らの心をしっかりとあなたに向けさせてください」（18節）という祈りです。これは、リーダーにとって最も大切な「とりなしの祈り」です。私たちも今日、この祈りを自分自身や周りの人のためにささげたいものです。
3．「手放すこと」の大切さ
この章は、単にダビデの「献金の模範」を示すだけではありません。中心にあるのは、ダビデと神との関係です。ダビデはお金以上に、神との関係に喜びを見出し、「人生で必要なものはすべて神が備えてくださる」と信じて生きていました。そして、与えられたものを喜んで神にお返しする自由さを持っていたのです。
あなたはいま、何を手放さずに強く握りしめているでしょうか？そのことによって、本当に幸せや自由を感じていますか。手を少し開くのは不安かもしれませんが、まず「あなたを愛しておられる神」を知り、神の愛に喜びを持つことが大切です。そして「すべてはあなたから出たものであり、私たちは御手から出たものをあなたにささげたにすぎません」（歴代誌第一29:14）という言葉の意味が、心に響いてくることを願います。そうして初めて、本当に新しい人生の可能性が開かれるのです。

1. The Meaning of Letting Go
Today we look at a very interesting theme in the Bible: “The meaning of letting go.”
For example, smartphones, games, brand items—everyone has something they feel they can never let go of. But the Bible says this: “A truly rich life does not start by holding tightly, but by giving freely.”
Today, let’s read 1 Chronicles 29 together.
2. The Structure of This Chapter
First, let’s look at the flow of this chapter.
First, there is “The call to give and the response” (verses 1–9). King David gave much for the building of the temple and called the people to give. Amazingly, the people responded willingly and joyfully—not with fear or pressure.
Next, we see “David’s prayer” (verses 10–19). This prayer includes praise, thanks, confession, and petition. David admits that everything comes from God and prays that the people’s hearts will turn to Him.
Finally, “Solomon’s coronation and the people’s joy” (verses 20–30). The throne was not prepared by David but by God. The book reminds us again and again to look at “what God does.”
3. Key Points
1) A Giving Heart Shows Faith
David gave 3,000 talents of gold and 7,000 talents of silver (verse 4). But the amount is not the point—the heart is. The Bible values the attitude, not the number.
Unlike cults or false religions that say “Give or you won’t be saved” or “Give or you’ll suffer,” the Bible teaches this:
“Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand” (verse 14).
Giving is not a business deal. It is a thankful response to God who already gives us everything we need.
2) God’s Rule and Our Dependence
David begins his prayer: “Yours, Lord, is the kingdom” (verse 11). Even as king, David admits that success and blessing come from God’s mercy, not human power. This truth matters today too.
3) A Prayer to Guard the Heart
David does not pray for his own blessing but for the people and Solomon to stay faithful:
“Keep their hearts loyal to You” (verse 18). This is the most important prayer for any leader—and for us today.
4. Why Letting Go Matters
This chapter is not only about David’s example of giving. At its center is his relationship with God. David found joy not in money but in God, trusting that God provides everything needed. So he could freely return what he had received.
What are you holding tightly today? Does it really give you peace? Opening your hand may feel scary, but first know this: God loves you. When you find joy in His love, these words will make sense:
“Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand” (verse 14).
