エリフのことばが続きます（2節）。ヨブよ、神について正しい理解を持つように、と語り掛けています（3節）。
まず、神は完全な知識を持っておられるお方である。神はすべてを知り、見定めておられるお方、神に隠されるものはない。そのお方とあなたは向かい合っている（4節）。神は全能の神であると同時に、全知の神である。神の理解力は完全で、神はすべてを理解した上で力を行使される（5節）。だから、神には、悪しき者、苦しめられている者に適切な報いを与えることができるのだ（6節）。たとえ正しい者が地の片隅に追いやられても、神がその者を見落とされることはない。彼は神に助けられる（7節）。
2．神は無意味に苦しめられない（36:8-15）
だから、もし正しい者が不正な権力者によって苦しみの縄に縛られることがあるなら、それは無意味なことではない（8節）。それが罪によるものなら、神は、その問題を必ず告げてくださる（9節）。神は、悟りを与え、行いを改めるように助けてくださる（10節）。その命令に応じるなら、人は自分の幸せを回復する（11節）。そうでないなら、人は神の懲らしめによって滅びるのだ（13節）。
ヨブは、神が答えてくださらないと悩んでいました。ヨブは三人の友の主張に真っ向から反対したわけではありません。神の沈黙に苛立っていました。しかし、エリフは、神は語ってくださらないのではない、必ず語ってくださる、いや、苦しみの意図を告げてくださる、と断言します。悪しき者は、決して、神にその意味を尋ね求めて遜ったりはしません。彼は、神を恨み、神に憤り、神に毒づくだけです（13節）。ですから彼らが救われることはありません（14節）。神は、コミュニケーションが取れないような人とは違うのです。神は人を無意味に苦しめることはありません（15節）。
3．豊かさに欺かれないことだ（36:16-23節）
だから今の状況においては、まず神を恐れることだ、とエリフは言います。高慢になり、豊かさに欺かれないことだ。あなたは今まで何の不自由もなく、思うままに生きてきた。神があなたを守る垣根を張り巡らされたからだ。あなたは豊かになり、栄え、誰もがうらやむような人生を過ごしてきた。だがそれによって足をすくわれてはならない（18節）。もしかしたらあなたは記憶にとどまらなかった罪を犯したのかもしれない。だから今あなたがどんなに叫んでも、どんなに訴えても、神が取り合わない事態が生じているのではないか（19節）。上に立つ者、権力を持つ者は、貧しい者、みじめな境遇にある者に対して、抑圧を強いることに注意しなければならない（21節）。すべてを理解しておられる神は、あなたを教えようとしておられる。あなたを罰し懲らしめて、滅ぼそうというのではない。神はあなたにとって最高の教師である。その神にどうしてあなたは「不正をした」と言えるのか（23節）。
4．神を賛美せよ（36:24-33節）
むしろ、あなたは神のなさることについて賛美を献げるべきだ。試練が不可解であればあるほど、神に栄光を帰すことである（24節）。それこそ信仰を必要とすることでありが証だ（25節）。神は、私たちの理解力を超えたお方であり、人間と同じではない（26節）。神は雨の仕組みを考えられたお方（27節）。人間に同じことはできない（28節）。神は自然界の水を循環させ（30節）、農耕の恵みを与えられる（31節）。嵐も神の恵みの循環の一部なのだから、感謝すべきものだ（32節）。雷によって私たちは神を知り、神を恐れ、神がすべてをお造りになったことを覚えるのである（33節）。
ヨブよあなたが知り尽くすことのできない、神の知恵がある。目を開いて、神の御手の中にあって生きていることを確信すべきだ。そうすれば、より謙虚に大胆に生きることができる。エリフの語り掛けに神を思い巡らす一章です。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります。

Job 36:1-14 Elihu’s Argument (5) There is no senseless suffering.
1. the understanding of God is perfect (36:1-7)
Elihu’s words continue (v. 2). He tells Job to have a right understanding of God (v. 3).
First, God is the One who has perfect knowledge. God is counting all things, and there is nothing hidden from Him. You are face to face with Him (v. 4). God is not only God Almighty, but also God Omniscient. God’s understanding is perfect, and God exercises His power with all understanding (v. 5). Therefore, God is capable of giving proper rewards to the wicked and afflicted (v. 6). Even if the righteous one is driven to a corner of the earth, God will not overlook him. He will be saved by God (v. 7).
2. God will not suffer for nothing (36:8-15).
So if a righteous person is ever bound in a noose of suffering by an unjust authority, it is not for nothing (v. 8). If it is due to sin, God will surely tell them of the problem (v. 9). God will enlighten and help one to change his deeds (v. 10). If one complies with that command, he will restore his happiness (v. 11). If not, man will perish by God’s chastisement (v. 13).
Job was troubled that God would not answer him. Job was not in direct opposition to the claims of his three friends. He was frustrated by God’s silence. Elihu, however, assures us that God does not speak; He will speak, or rather, He will tell us of His intention to suffer. The wicked man will never be compliant, asking God for the meaning of his suffering. He only resents God, is angry with God, and poisons God (v. 13). Therefore they will never be saved (v. 14). God is not like a person who cannot communicate. God does not torment people senselessly (v. 15).
3. do not be deceived by abundance (vv. 36:16-23).
So in the present situation, Elihu says, the first thing to do is to fear God. Do not be proud and do not be deceived by riches. You have lived your life as you wish, without any encumbrance. God has put up a hedge to protect you. You have become rich, prosperous, and lived a life that would be the envy of all. But do not let that hold you back (v. 18). Perhaps you have committed a sin that you did not even remember. So now, no matter how much you cry out, no matter how much you plead, you have a situation that God will not deal with (v. 19). We must beware of the oppression that those in high places and in power exert on the poor and those in miserable circumstances (v. 21). God, who understands all, is counting all, and He wants to teach you. He does not want to punish, chasten, or destroy you. God is your best teacher. How can you say to God that you have “done injustice” (v. 23)?
4. praise God (vv. 36:24-33)
Rather, you should offer praise to God for what He does. The more incomprehensible the trial, the more glory to God (v. 24). That is what requires faith and is a testimony of gratitude (v. 25). God is beyond our comprehension and is not the same as man (v. 26). God is the One who thought up the mechanism of rain (v. 27). Man cannot do the same (v. 28). God circulates water in nature (v. 30) and provides agricultural blessings (v. 31). We should be thankful for storms because they are part of the circulation of God’s grace (v. 32). By lightning we know God, we fear God, and we remember that God is counting all (v. 33).
Job, there is a wisdom of God that you cannot fully know. You should open your eyes and be sure that you are in God’s hands and alive. Then you will live more humbly and boldly. This is a chapter that makes me think of God in the way Elihu speaks to me. I pray that today will be another good day.
