申命記の12章以降には、神の教え（律法）が書かれています。しかしそれをただルールとして守るのではなくて、神の愛を知った上で従うことが大切です。
イスラエルの人々にとって、それは、エジプトからの解放、荒野の40年間の旅で神の守りと養いを経験したことでした。私たちにとって、それは、イエス・キリストの十字架による罪の赦し、新しい人生、日々の聖書の学びによるものです。
神との親しい関係ができると、律法はもはや「縛られるルール」ではなく「人生を守る知恵」となります。そしてそれは、神との関係をさらに築き深めさせるものにもなるのです。
しかしその関係を壊そうとする誘惑もあります。申命記13章には、偽預言者、身内の影響、社会の偶像礼拝という三つの危険があることを警告しています。
1．偽預言者による誘惑（1-5節）
まず警戒すべきは、偽預言者です。彼らは、奇跡や特別なしるしを見せて、人々を違う神に導こうとします（1-3節）。
しかし、ここで重要なのは「神はこれを試みとして許される」という点です（3節）。つまり「偽預言者が現れる」ということ自体が、神に従う信仰を試すものになるのです。
これは、今の時代にも通じる話です。現代では、いろいろな霊的な教えやスピリチュアルな指導者がいます。奇跡や力を強調する人もいます。
でも、すべての奇跡が本物とは限りません。イエスは「終わりの時には偽預言者が現れる」と警告しました（マタイ24:24、黙示録19:20）。
だからこそ、信仰をしっかり持ち、判断力を働かせることが大切です（ピリピ1:9）。
2．身内的な人々による誘惑（6-11節）
次に警戒すべきは、身近な人たちの影響です（6-11節）。聖書では、「あなたの愛する妻」「親友」（1サムエル18:3参照）と書かれています。一番信頼している人が、神から遠ざけることがあるということです。知らない人からの誘いなら警戒するのに、身近な人の言葉は信じてしまいやすいものです。実際聖書には、こんな話があります。
・アダムはエバの言葉に従い、神の命令に背いた（創世記3章）。
・ソロモンは異教の妻たちに影響され、偶像礼拝をするようになった（列王記上11章）。
しかも信仰は、一人だけのものではありません。それは広がっていくものです。新約聖書でも、教会の信仰の純粋さを守ることが強調されています（1コリント5:6「少しのパン種が、全体をふくらませる」）。一人の妥協が、教会全体を弱らせていくのです。
だからこそ、イエスもこう言いました。「父や母、妻、子ども、兄弟、姉妹、自分の命よりも神を大切にしなければ、私の弟子になれない」（ルカ14:26）これは「家族を嫌いになれ」という意味ではありません。大切なのは、「親しい人の影響で信仰を失ってしまわないようにすること」です。
3．世俗的な者による誘惑（12-18節）
最後に警戒すべきは、社会の考え方です（12-18節）。聖書では、「よこしまな者たち」（13節）と書かれています。つまり、神を信じず、違う価値観を広める人々です。申命記13:14には「よく調べ、探り、問いただせ」とあります。これは「社会の流れにただ乗るのではなく、慎重に判断することが大切」という意味です。
現代では、いろいろな価値観が広がっています。
・お金がすべてだという考え方。
・自分が一番大切で、神は必要ないという考え方。
・ 道徳よりも成功や人気を優先する社会。
これらは、一見すると問題がないように見えます。しかし、パウロはローマ書で「人々は神よりも偶像を礼拝するようになった」（ローマ1:21-25）と語っています。気づかないうちに、神が示す価値観よりも世の中の価値観を信じてしまうことがあるのです。だからこそ、信仰を守るために、霊的な戦いを意識して祈ることが必要なのです。
申命記13章の教えは、今の時代にも当てはまる警告です。私たちの信仰は色々な形で試されます。しかし、どのような誘惑があっても、神とのつながりを大切にしながら歩んでまいりましょう。主の恵みが豊に満ち溢れますように。また明日お会いしましょう。
Deuteronomy 13 Beware of Temptations That Lead Away from God
From chapter 12 onward, Deuteronomy teaches God’s law. But following God is not just about obeying rules—it’s about understanding His love and obeying with joy.
For Israel, this meant remembering how God saved them from Egypt and protected them for 40 years in the wilderness. For us, it means knowing Jesus Christ, receiving forgiveness, and learning from the Bible daily.
When we have a close relationship with God, His commandments are no longer “strict rules” but “wisdom that protects life.” They help us grow in faith.
But there are dangers that try to pull us away from God. Deuteronomy 13 warns us about three major threats:
1. **False prophets (verses 1-5)**
Some people may perform miracles or signs and try to lead others to false gods. But God allows this as a test—to see who truly follows Him. In today’s world, many spiritual teachers focus on miracles. However, not all miracles are from God. Jesus warned that false prophets would come (Matthew 24:24, Revelation 19:20). That’s why wisdom and discernment are so important (Philippians 1:9).
2. **Influence from close family or friends (verses 6-11)**
Even people we love—like family and best friends—can lead us away from God. Adam followed Eve’s words and disobeyed God (Genesis 3). King Solomon’s wives influenced him toward idol worship (1 Kings 11).
Faith is not only personal—it spreads. Paul warns in 1 Corinthians 5:6 that “a little yeast affects the whole dough,” meaning one person’s compromise can weaken the whole church. That’s why Jesus said, “If you love your family more than Me, you cannot be My disciple” (Luke 14:26). He didn’t mean we should hate our families, but that we must not let anyone weaken our faith.
3. **Worldly influences (verses 12-18)**
Society promotes values that may seem harmless but can lead people away from God. The Bible says to “investigate carefully” (Deuteronomy 13:14), meaning we should not blindly follow trends.
Common worldly ideas include:
– Money is the most important thing in life.
– People can live without God.
– Success and popularity matter more than morals.
Paul warns in Romans 1:21-25 that people trade God’s truth for idol worship without realizing it. That’s why we must pray and stay strong in faith.
Deuteronomy 13 teaches us that faith will be tested in different ways. But no matter the temptation, let us hold on to our relationship with God and keep walking in His truth. May His grace and blessings overflow in our lives.
