2．神が与えた三つのしるし：サウルへの確かな導き
サウルは突然、王という大きな役割を担うことになりました。まだ心の準備ができていなかった彼に対し、神はサムエルを通して三つの「しるし」を与えます（10章2〜6節）。これらのしるしは、神の導きが本物であることを示すものでした。
第一のしるしは、ラケルの墓の近くで、父親のろばが見つかったことを知らせる人に出会うことです。これは、サウルが探していたものが見つかり、「すべては神の導きによる」と感じるきっかけとなりました。
第二のしるしは、タボルの樫の木の下で、聖所に向かう人々から聖なるパンを受け取ることです。これは、サウルが神に選ばれた特別な存在であることを示しています。
第三のしるしは、ギブアで預言者の集団と出会い、主の霊に満たされることです。「あなたは新しい人に変えられる」という言葉は、サウルの心に大きな変化が起こることを意味しています。
これらの出来事は偶然ではなく、すべて意味のある出来事として描かれています。つまり、サウルは自分の力だけでなく、見えない神の力に導かれていることを知ることができたのです。
すべてのしるしが実現した後、サムエルは「自分の力でできることをしなさい」とサウルに語ります。これは、「神は人の弱さや未熟さもそのまま用いてくださる」というメッセージです。以前登場した士師ギデオンも、同じように神に選ばれた人物でした。
3．王を求めた人々と、見えない力への信頼
この時代の人々は、「王がいれば国はもっと良くなる」と考えていました。しかし、預言者サムエルは「あなたたちは見えない神を退けて、人間の王を選んだ」と警告します。
実は、聖書の中では王が現れることはすでに予告されていました（申命記17:14）。そのため、王政そのものが悪いわけではありません。大切なのは、「誰に一番信頼を置くか」という点です。
ミツパという場所で王の即位が宣言されました（10:19）。この場所には「神が助けてくださった」という記念碑があります。つまり、「本当の導きは、目に見える人ではなく、目に見えない神から来る」ということを思い出す特別な場所だったのです。人々はサウルを王に選びましたが、サウルを導く神を信頼し続ける必要がありました。
4．人間の期待と、見えない力への信頼
人はよく、「新しい仕事があれば」「環境が変われば」「良い人と出会えれば」人生が良くなると考えがちです。しかし、聖書は「主に信頼する者は失望しない」（ローマ10:11）と語っています。これは、私たちが「何を信じて生きるか」という問いに関わる話です。
本当の変化は、外側の条件ではなく、心から信頼できる存在への信頼から始まります。

Saul Led by the Spirit of the Lord: God’s Calling and Human Response
1. Introduction: Why Should We Learn About Saul’s Coronation?
Today, we will talk about how Saul became the first king of Israel.
This story is not just an old tale.
It teaches us how God calls people to important roles, and how we should respond to that calling.
2. Three Signs from God: Clear Guidance for Saul
Saul was suddenly given a big responsibility—to become king.
He was not ready in his heart, so God gave him three signs through the prophet Samuel (1 Samuel 10:2–6).
These signs showed that God’s guidance was real.
First sign: Near Rachel’s tomb, Saul meets someone who tells him that his father’s donkeys were found.
This shows that what Saul was looking for was already solved, and that everything was guided by God.
Second sign: Under the oak tree at Tabor, Saul meets people going to the holy place and receives holy bread.
This means Saul was chosen by God and had the right to receive something sacred.
Third sign: At Gibeah, Saul meets a group of prophets and is filled with the Spirit of the Lord.
The words “You will become a new person” mean that Saul’s heart will be deeply changed.
These events were not random.
They were meaningful signs that helped Saul understand he was being led by God, not just by his own power.
After all the signs came true, Samuel said to Saul, “Do what your hand finds to do.”
This means that God uses people as they are—even with weakness or lack of experience.
This is similar to Gideon, who was also chosen by God in the book of Judges.
3. The People’s Choice and Trust in the Invisible Power
At that time, people believed, “If we have a king, our country will be better.”
But Samuel warned them, “You have rejected the invisible God and chosen a human king.”
Actually, the Bible had already spoken about kings coming in the future (Deuteronomy 17:14).
So having a king was not wrong.
The important question was: “Who do you trust most?”
Saul was made king at a place called Mizpah (1 Samuel 10:19).
This place had a monument that said, “God helped us.”
It reminded people that true guidance comes not from people we can see, but from the God we cannot see.
The people chose Saul as king, but they needed to keep trusting the God who guided him.
4. Human Expectations and Trust in the Invisible
Many people think, “If I get a new job,” “If my life changes,” or “If I meet the right person,” then life will be better.
But the Bible says, “Those who trust in the Lord will not be disappointed” (Romans 10:11).
This is not just a religious idea.
It is a question for everyone: “What do you trust in to live your life?”
Real change does not come from outside things.
It begins with trusting someone who is truly reliable—even if we cannot see Him.

Saul’s story teaches us that great things are not done by human power alone.
Even when we face new challenges or changes, listening to invisible guidance brings peace and hope.
