1．あなたは今、何を「建て」ていますか
家を建てたり、会社を成長させたり、自分の人生の土台をしっかりと作ったり——私たちは日々、何かを「建てる」ことに取り組んでいます。歴代誌第一22章は、この「建てる」という行為について、私たちに大切な問いを投げかけています。
2．章の見取り図──三つの場面で物語をとらえる
はじめに、歴代誌第一22章の構成を確認しましょう。この章は、次の三つの場面からできています。
第一は「準備」（22:2–5）です。ダビデは石工の組織を作り、鉄や青銅、杉材を集め、そのためにツロやシドンからも木材を取り寄せました。
第二は「勧告」（22:6–16）です。ダビデ王は息子ソロモンに神殿建設の使命を託し、その成功のために「律法を守ること」が大切だと強調します。
第三は「動員」（22:17–19）です。ここでダビデはイスラエルの首長たちに、ソロモンを支えるよう命じます。このことから、この事業は個人のものではなく、共同体が一緒になって進めるべきものだとわかります。
3．場所の確定──「これこそ神である主の宮だ」（歴代誌第一22:1）
続いて、章の冒頭に目を向けましょう。そこには「これこそ神である主の宮だ。これこそイスラエルの全焼のささげ物の祭壇だ」と宣言されています。この言葉は、前の21章で疫病が止まり、祭壇が建てられた出来事とつながっています。実際、オルナンの打ち場が神殿の場所として定められ、ここで神がご自身を現わされました。
ここで気をつけたいのは、まず神との関係が築かれ、その後に神殿という建物が建てられる、という順序です。この流れを間違えてはいけません。
また、章の構成（準備・勧告・動員）は、単なる建築の手順を記録したものではありません。それは、バビロン捕囚後の読者や今を生きる私たちに、「神との関係性を回復し、共に神を中心とした生き方をしよう」と呼びかけているのです。そして、この22章は、後に続く28章・29章へとつながる「王の権威は礼拝の中心を正しく据え、共同体を神に向かわせるために使われる」という物語の始まりとなっています。教会のリーダーシップは、共同体を神に向かわせるためのものです。自己目的のためのものではありません。
4．戦乱を収める備え（22:2–5, 8–10）
ダビデは在留していた異国人の石工を集め、鉄や青銅、杉材も大量に用意しました（22:2–4）。ツロやシドンからも木材が届き、国際的な協力体制も見られます。また、ソロモンはまだ若いので、ダビデは資材だけでなく、これからの道筋やビジョンも伝えて励まします（22:5）。同時にダビデは、「あなたは多くの血を流したので、主の御名のためには家を建てない」という神の言葉も伝えます（22:8）。これはダビデへの罰ではなく、それぞれの役割分担でした。ダビデは戦乱を治める使命があり、ソロモンは平和な時代に神殿を建てる使命を担ったのです。
5．ソロモンへの委任——成功の条件は「律法順守」（22:11–16）
ダビデはソロモンに、「主があなたと共におられ、知恵と理解が与えられるように。イスラエルを治め、律法を忠実に守ることができるように」と語ります。ここで大事なのは、成功のカギが力や資材の多さではなく、「神の律法を守ること」だと強調されている点です（22:12–13）。金や銀、青銅や鉄は「数え切れないほど」大量にありましたが、本当に必要なのは「力強く、勇気をもって進む心」と「神の言葉に従う姿勢」だと教えられます。
6．共同体の動員（22:17–19）
最後にダビデはイスラエルの長たちに、ソロモンを助けるように命じます。神殿建設は一人で成し遂げられるものではありません。王はビジョンを示し、後継者が使命を受け継ぎ、共同体が力を合わせる。この三つが揃って初めて、歴代誌が捕囚から帰ってきた人々に示した「再建のモデル」となったのです。
7．「主が建ててくださる」を、今日の一歩に
私たちはつい、自分の人生を築くことにだけ熱中しがちですが、それだけが本当の目的ではありません。この章の神殿建設が象徴しているのは、現代で言えば「神の国」——つまり神の愛に生きる共同体を築くことです。争いのない、安心して暮らせる社会を目指す。それが私たちの大切な使命です。
まずは今日できる小さな一歩から始めましょう。朝の5分を、聖書を読む時間に使ったり、週の初めを礼拝にささげるなど、心の優先順位を神に向け直すことから始めてください。神はそれぞれに役割を与えています。ある人は畑を耕し、ある人は環境を整え、またある人はみんなをつなげます。互いを大切にし、助け合うことで、神の愛に生きる共同体が形作られていきます。自分だけでなく、みんなの祝福を願う歩みへと、共に成長していきましょう。それでは、また明日。©Dr. Makoto
Season 6: 1 Chronicles 22 – Building the House of God
1. What Are You Building Today?
We build houses, grow companies, and try to make a strong foundation for our lives. Every day, we work hard to “build” something. 1 Chronicles 22 asks us an important question about this: What are you building?
2. Overview of the Chapter – Three Key Scenes
First, let’s look at the structure of this chapter. It has three main parts:
- Preparation (22:2–5): David organizes stonecutters, gathers iron, bronze, and cedar, and even brings wood from Tyre and Sidon.
- Advice (22:6–16): David gives Solomon the mission to build the temple and says the key to success is to keep God’s law.
- Mobilization (22:17–19): David commands the leaders of Israel to help Solomon. This shows the work is not for one person but for the whole community.
3. The Place Is Confirmed – “This Is the House of the Lord” (22:1)
The chapter begins with this declaration:
“This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.” (NASB equivalent of 新改訳2017)
This connects to chapter 21, where the plague stopped and an altar was built. The threshing floor of Ornan becomes the temple site, where God revealed Himself. Notice the order: first, the relationship with God; then, the building. The chapter is not just about construction steps. It calls the people after the exile—and us today—to restore worship and live with God at the center. Leadership is not for personal glory but to guide the community toward God.
4. Preparing After War (22:2–5, 8–10)
David gathers foreign stonecutters, iron, bronze, and cedar in large amounts (22:2–4). Tyre and Sidon also send wood, showing international cooperation. David knows Solomon is young, so he gives him not only materials but also vision (22:5). God says, “You have shed much blood, so you will not build a house for My name” (22:8). This is not punishment but role division: David brings peace; Solomon builds in a time of rest.
5. Commissioning Solomon – Success Depends on Obedience (22:11–16)
David tells Solomon: “May the LORD be with you, give you wisdom and understanding, so you can lead Israel and keep His law.” Success does not depend on strength or wealth but on obeying God’s Word (22:12–13). Gold, silver, bronze, and iron are countless, but what matters most is courage and faithfulness.
6. Mobilizing the Community (22:17–19)
Finally, David calls the leaders to help Solomon. Building God’s house is never a one-man job. The king gives vision, the successor takes the mission, and the community works together. This is the model for rebuilding after the exile—and for us today.
7. “God Will Build It” – Your Step Today
We often focus only on building our own lives. But that is not the ultimate goal. The temple here symbolizes building God’s kingdom—creating a community of love and peace. Start with a small step: spend five minutes reading the Bible in the morning, give the first day of the week to worship, and put God first. God gives each person a role: some prepare, some organize, some connect people. Respect and help each other, and the community of love will grow.
