1．主を喜ぶ
この詩篇は礼拝という公的な必要のために作られたと言われます。しかしながら最初の1節は、前の32篇11節の繰り返しです。つまり、この二つの詩篇には関係性があります。詩篇32篇は、姦淫の罪で打ち砕かれたダビデの悔い改めの詩篇。今日の33篇は、礼拝への招きを歌うもの。つまり、主への感謝と賛美の礼拝に招かれているのは「正しい者」たちですが、その正しい者は、直ぐな心で悔い改めた人たち、神の御前に遜った人々たち、という点が大切でしょう。
礼拝の本質は、主を喜ぶことです。それは、賛美、感謝、褒め歌として表されます。しかしそれは、悔い改めに基づくもの、神の前に遜るところから生じるものだ、ということです。神は人を赦すと宣言しながら、内側で苦々しい思いを抱いているような人とは違います。神は愛を持って罪を赦し、受け入れ、祝福を約束されるお方です。そして、神のことばは真っすぐで、また神のなさることも真実です（4節）。また神は、正しいことを迷わず行われるお方です（5節）。偽りのない神の恵みのことばを頂くからこそ、それは喜びであり、感謝なのです（2節）。
また主のことばによって天は造られ、天の万象も動かされました（6-7節）。となれば、私たちに語られた神のことばが何事かをなすことも期待されることです。そうであれば、私たちは、「主を畏れ、主の前におののく」のです（8節）。神が仰せられればそのようになり、神が命じられれば、それは堅く立つのです（9節）。
しかし、本当にそうなのでしょうか、と心は呟きませんか。というのもこの世の現実社会は、神とは無関係に動いていると思わされることの方が多いのです。やはり金と権力、これが全てと思わされる現実があったりします。多勢に無勢、悪者が栄え、真面目に生きる者は赤子の手をひねるようにねじ伏せられ、弱い者は、世の流れに押し流されていく。神などいないように思われされる現実があります。しかしたとえどれほどそのように思われても、地上のはかりごとを破り、御心を成し遂げる神は生きておられるのだ、と信頼していく、それが信仰の道と心得ましょう（10-11節）。
人間存在のすべては神のことばにかかっています。財力によらず、権力にもよらず、ただ神の恵みのことばによって物事は成り立っていくのです。神のことばに信頼し、人が期待し続ける時に、神は全宇宙を動かして私たちを助け、支え、守られます。この神のことばへの信頼に立たせていただくなら、私たちの心には、主に対する喜びが沸き上がるのです。それは空元気とは全くことなるものです。
2．神の支配に服する
ですから、大切なのは、万物の支配者であるこの神の側に立つかどうかです（12節）。神の支配は完全な知識（13-15節）、完全な統御（16-17節）、完全な愛（18-19節）に基づいています。どんなに優れた人間であれ、その判断には明らかな限界があります。しかし神の洞察は完全です。また、「王は軍勢の大きさでは救われない。勇者は力の大きさでは救い出されない。軍馬も勝利の頼みにならず、軍勢の大きさも救いにはならない」とある通りです。当時、軍事力は、軍馬の数によって評価されました。しかし、詩人は、その評価はあてにならない、と言います。というのも、神は常に大軍の側にあるわけではない。力が正義なのではなく、正義が力だからです。正しいこと、良いことを愛される神がそれをよしとするかどうかです。もし神が味方になってくださるのなら、ギデオンの勝利のように、弱小の者、無力な者に勝利はもたらされるのです（16、17節）。
3．恵み深い主を待ち望もう
人生成功の秘訣は聖書の神を畏れることです。この神の子として慎みをもって生きることです。この主を待ち望み、この主に対する信仰を明確にし、主を喜ぶことです。そして事実、主の目は、主を恐れる者に注がれています。いや、神はそのような者を探しておられるのです。力ある者、能力ある者、抜きんでている者ではありません。何よりも、主の恵みを待ち望む者を探しておられます（18節）。神は人が見るように人を見ることはありません。だからこそ、人は神に期待することができます。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります。

Psalm 33: Let us be sure
1. rejoice in the Lord
It is said that this psalm was composed for the public necessity of worship. However, the first verse is a repetition of the previous Psalm 32:11. In other words, there is a relationship between the two Psalms. The psalm of repentance of David, who was crushed for the sin of adultery, and today’s 33rd psalm is an invitation to worship. In other words, it is the “righteous” who are invited to worship in thanksgiving and praise to the Lord, but it is important to note that the righteous are those who have repented with an upright heart, those who have been humbled before God.
The essence of worship is to rejoice in the Lord. It is expressed as praise, thanksgiving, and songs of praise. But it is based on repentance and comes from a place of reverence before God. God is not like a person who declares that he forgives others but harbors bitterness inside. God is one who forgives and accepts sin with love and promises blessings. And God’s word is straightforward and what He does is true (v. 4). God does not hesitate to do what is right (v. 5). It is a joy and thanksgiving to receive the word of God’s grace, which is without lie (v. 2).
And by the word of the Lord the heavens were made and all things in heaven were moved (vv. 6-7). Therefore, it is to be expected that the word of God spoken to us will do something. If so, we are to “fear the Lord and tremble before Him” (v. 8). If God says it, it is so; if God commands it, it stands firm (v. 9).
But doesn’t the heart murmur, “Is this really so? The real world of today often seems to operate independently of God. Money and power, after all, seem to be all that matters. The outnumbered are outnumbered, the wicked prosper, those who live honestly are twisted like a baby’s hand, and the weak are swept away by the currents of the world. The weak are swept away by the currents of the world. It is a reality that makes it seem as if there is no God. However, no matter how much it may seem that way, we must trust that God is alive, who breaks through earthly limitations and accomplishes His will, and that is the path of faith (vv. 10-11).
God is counting all of human existence on the Word of God. It does not depend on wealth or power, but only on God’s word of grace. When we continue to trust in God’s Word and expect Him to do so, He moves the entire universe to help, sustain, and protect us. When we stand on this trust in God’s word, joy in the Lord wells up in our hearts. This is completely different from empty cheerfulness.
2. to submit to God’s rule
What is important, therefore, is whether or not we take the side of God, who is the ruler of all things (v. 12). God’s rule is based on perfect knowledge (vv. 13-15), perfect control (vv. 16-17), and perfect love (vv. 18-19). No matter how good a person is, there are obvious limits to his or her judgment. But God’s insight is perfect. He also says, “Kings are not saved by the size of their armies. A valiant man is not saved by the size of his strength. As it says, “Neither are warhorses the dependence of victory, nor the size of the army the salvation. In those days, military power was evaluated according to the number of warhorses. The psalmist, however, says that this assessment cannot be relied upon. God is not always on the side of the great army. For power is not justice, but justice is power. It is whether God, who loves what is right and good, is okay with it. If God is on our side, then, like Gideon’s victory, victory will come to the weak and powerless (vv. 16, 17).
3. wait for the gracious Lord
The secret of success in life is to fear the God of the Bible. As a child of this God, we must live with modesty. We are to wait for Him, to make our faith in Him clear, and to rejoice in Him. And in fact, the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him. No, God is looking for such a one. Not those who are powerful, capable, or outstanding. Above all, He is looking for those who long for His grace (v. 18). God does not see people as people see them. That is why one can look to God. I pray that today will be another good day.
