1．背景
ダビデは、王としての油注ぎを三度受けています。初めは、サウル王が失格者となり、新しい王の候補者とされた時です。ダビデはサムエルによってベツレヘムで油注ぎを受けました（1サムエル16:13）。二回目は、サウルの死後ダビデがヘブロンに移り住んだ時です。ユダの人々がやってきてダビデをユダの家の王とするために油を注ぎました（2サムエル2:4）。最後に、イスラエルの全長老がヘブロンにいるダビデをイスラエルの王とした時です（2サムエル5:3）。この詩篇が詠われたのは、最後の油注ぎがなされる前のことであったと考えられています。
ダビデは、段階を経てイスラエルの王として承認されていったのですが、その過程の中で、ダビデも主に寄り頼む信仰を成長させています。ダビデは言います。3節「たとえ、私に対して陣営が張られても、私の心は恐れない。たとえ、私に戦いが起こっても、それにも私は動じない。」それは、神が私の光であり、救いであり、いのちのとりでだからだ（1節）、という根拠が大切です。つまり、自分が強くなったから、恐れない、動じない、というわけでありません。あるいは、はったりを利かせているわけでもありません。ある意味で、ダビデは、サウルの執拗な攻撃により、身も心もズタズタの状態、陥落寸前の城のようであったと言うべきでしょう。しかし神は、そのようなダビデに勝利をもたらしてくださったのです。最も弱い時にこそ、ダビデは神の大きな御業を経験する形で王とされたのです。
ですから4節、ダビデは一つのことを願っています。単純に言えば、神を礼拝する、神と共に時を過ごす喜びを味わうことです。というのもそれは、「苦しみの日に私をかくまい、岩の上に私をあげてくださる（5節）」からです。つまり礼拝が彼を支え、彼を勝利へと向かわせてくださるからです。神に支えられるダビデの姿があります。
2．戦いの中に賛美がある
人の人生に悩みは尽きません。人生において敵がなくなることもないでしょう。人生は戦いに次ぐ戦いです。しかしたとえそうであっても、魂には安らぎがあり、喜びがあり、ほめ歌がある、これこそ信仰の祝福です。悩みにあって、浮き沈み、動揺するのではなく、３ｈ世では得られない、信仰の安らぎの境地に立たせていただく、そこを通り抜けたことのない信仰は、まだまだというべきでしょう。では、どのようにして通り抜ける信仰を育てられるのか。それは、本気で、毎週の礼拝に打ち込むことでしょう。毎週真剣に礼拝を献げているなら、人が変わらないわけがありません。礼拝はよい説教を聞きに行く場ではありません。賛美で盛り上がる場でも、交わりの祝福を味わう場でもありません。神あっての自分であることを確認し、神を心から仰ぎ、神への信頼を表明する場、それを毎週繰り返すのです。そのような礼拝が真剣に繰り返されればこそ、信仰も堅くされるのです。
3．神が全てである
7-10節の祈りは力強い。王になって油注ぎを受けている者が何もこのような悲痛な思いで祈らなくても、と思われるところでしょう。しかし、身も心もボロボロになりながら、ただ神に拾われる形で王にしていただいたダビデにしてみれば、これから先も、神よ、本当に助けてください、という思いがあったのでしょう。10節、「私の父、私の母が、私を見捨てるときは、主が私を取り上げてくださる」目に見える助けが助けとならないことはいくらでもあります。しかしたとえ窮地に立たされ、もはや何の助けもないと思わされることがあっても、信仰者は、静まって主の助けを期待していくのです。そして、いよいよすべてが神にかかっているかのように祈るのです。また神を礼拝する者として生きていくのです。神にかけていく人生が、安らかな結果となる、主の道の確かなことを、人はどこかで学ぶ必要があります。
14節「待ち望め。主を。雄々しくあれ。心を強くせよ。待ち望め主を。」粘り強く時を待つようにダビデは読者に勧めます。諦めないことです。強くなって王となった者ではない、弱いままに王として引き上げられたダビデの確信です。苦難にあって弱められている時こそ、主に信頼してまいりたいものです。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります。

Pt. 27: Expressing Faith in Victory
1. background
David received the royal anointing three times. The first time was when King Saul was disqualified and he was made a candidate for a new king. David was anointed by Samuel in Bethlehem (1 Samuel 16:13). The second time was when David moved to Hebron after Saul’s death. The men of Judah came and anointed David to make him king over the house of Judah (2 Samuel 2:4). Finally, it is when all the elders of Israel made David king over Israel in Hebron (2 Samuel 5:3). It is believed that the psalm was composed before the final anointing.
David was approved as King of Israel through stages, and in the process, David also grew in his faith to lean on the Lord. David says, verse 3: “Even though a camp be pitched against me, my heart shall not be afraid. Even if a battle arises against me, even then I will not be moved.” It is important to make the rationale that God is my light, my salvation, and my life (v. 1). In other words, it is not that I am fearless or unmoved because I have become strong. Nor is he bluffing. In a sense, David was like a castle on the verge of falling, his body and soul shattered by Saul’s relentless attacks. But God brought victory to David. It was in his weakest moments that David experienced God’s great work in making him king.
Thus, in verse 4, David wishes for one thing. Simply put, to worship God and to experience the joy of spending time with Him. He wants God to be with him because “He hides me in the day of trouble and lifts me up on a rock (v. 5). In other words, worship sustains him and leads him to victory. This is the image of David being sustained by God.
2. there is praise in the midst of battle
There is no end to the troubles in people’s lives. We will never be free of enemies in our lives. Life is one battle after another. But even so, there is peace, joy, and songs of praise for the soul, which is the blessing of faith. We are not to be troubled, ups and downs, or upset, but to stand in a place of peace of faith that cannot be found in this world. Faith that has not passed through this place is still in its immature stage. So, how can we develop faith that passes through? It is by seriously devoting yourself to weekly worship services. If you are serious about offering worship services every week, there is no reason why people will not change. Worship is not a place to listen to a good sermon. It is not a place to get excited about praise or enjoy the blessings of fellowship. It is a place to confirm that you are who you are because of God, to look up to God with all your heart, and to express your trust in God. Only when such worship is earnestly repeated will our faith be strengthened.
3. God is everything.
The prayer in verses 7-10 is powerful. One would think that a person who has been anointed as a king would not need to pray with such a sorrowful heart. But David, who had been made king by God’s grace in spite of his broken body and soul, must have felt that God would really help him in the future. There are many times when visible help does not help. But even when we are in dire straits and it seems that there is no help for us, the believer will remain calm and expect the Lord’s help. They pray as if everything depends on God. They also live their lives as worshippers of God. One needs to learn somewhere that a life spent on God will have a peaceful outcome, the certainty of the Lord’s ways.
Verse 14: “Wait for the Wait for the Lord. Be majestic. Be strong in heart. Wait for the Lord.” David encourages his readers to wait patiently for the right time. Do not give up. This is the conviction of David, who was raised up as king in weakness, not one who became strong and became king. It is in times of hardship and weakness that we should trust in the Lord. I pray that today will be another good day.
