1．シェバの女王とソロモン

ソロモンの知恵の素晴らしさは、多くの国々の注目を集めました。ソロモンの噂を聞き、シェバの女王がソロモンを訪れました。交易を目的としたものだったと思われます。シェバの女王は、ソロモンのような王様の下で生活する国民が幸いであること、またそのような王を国のために立てた神が、イスラエルをこよなく愛していることを指摘します（8、9節）。実に、ソロモンの知恵は、ソロモン自身のために与えられたものではありません。既に述べたように、それは、ソロモンを通してイスラエルに祝福が及ぶためでした。つまり、イスラエルのためにこそ、神はソロモンに知恵を与え、それを用いるように祝福されたのだと言うのです。アブラハムへの契約を思い出すところです。アブラハムは、かつて神に言われました。「地のすべての部族は、あなたによって祝福される」（創世記12:3）。実に、私たちが受ける祝福は、私たちを富ますものでありながら、それに留まらない。私たちを通して、皆が祝福されるのです。そのようなビジョンのあるところにこそ、神の祝福も豊かに注がれるのです。

2．積極的に善を行う人生

人に賜物が与えられ、特別な地位や特別な恩恵が与えられるのは、それはその人を豊かにすることは確かですが、それに留まらず、関係する人々すべてにその祝福が分かち合われるためです。人は、何もかも自分のものとして吸収しやすいし、自分を中心に物事を考えやすいものですが、才能も、賜物も、所有もみな、自分のためにあるのではありません。神がご自身の民を愛されているからこそ、私たちにそれらが与えられているのです。

キリスト者になったら、そのように自分中心に物事を考える性癖から解放されていきましょう（ガラテヤ6:10）。そして、具体的に、血のつながった家族、教会、職場、学校の中に、自分があることを考えたいものです。自分に利益がある限り、その人間関係を保とうとする、逆に、そうすることで、自分に不利益、不便さ、痛みが起こるようであれば距離を置き去っていく、このようなことは世の中では普通にあることでしょう。しかし、キリスト者はそうではありません。自分に不利益があってもその関係の中で進められている物事が立ち行くことを考えるのです。それはもはや、キリスト者が自分中心に物事を考える性癖から自由になっているからです。

自分が今キリスト者にさせられているのは、血のつながった家族、教会、職場、学校など、周囲の人々が皆祝されるためであると考えられるようになれば、それは成長の証です。逆に、自分がこの教会、家族、職場、学校に所属することで不利益を感じても、どんな苦労も一緒に乗り越えて、よき方向に建て上げていこうと、周りの人々を愛することができるようになれば、それも成長の証と言えるでしょう。ヘブル人への手紙の著者は言います。「信仰によって、モーセは成人したときに、ファラオの娘の息子と呼ばれることを拒み、はかない罪の楽しみにふけるよりも、むしろ神の民とともに苦しむことを選び取りました。彼は、キリストのゆえに受ける辱めを、エジプトの宝にまさる大きな富と考えました。それは、与えられる報いから目を離さなかったからでした。」（ヘブル11:23-25）モーセは、自分の持てる賜物と才能、また地位を、神の民と苦しみを分かち合うことのために用いました。しかしそうであればこそ、偉大な出エジプトも可能だったのです。自分のことばかりを考える人生に神による奇跡はありません。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります。

1．Queen of Sheva and Solomon

The splendor of Solomon’s wisdom has attracted the attention of many countries. After hearing the rumors of Solomon, the Queen of Sheva visited Solomon. She is believed to have been for trading purposes. The Queen of Sheva points out that the people who live under a king like Solomon are fortunate, and that the god who established such a king for the country loves Israel (Ver. 8, 9). Indeed, Solomon’s wisdom was not given for Solomon himself. As already mentioned, it was to bless Israel through Solomon. In other words, it is for Israel that God has given Solomon wisdom and blessed him to use it. I just remember the contract of God with Abraham. Abraham was once told by God. “All the tribes of the earth will be blessed by you” (Genesis 12: 3). Indeed, the blessings we receive, while enriching us, do not stop there. Everyone is blessed through us. Only where there is such a vision is the blessing of God poured abundantly

2．A life that actively does good

A person is given a gift, a special status and a special benefit, because it certainly enriches him, but it is not limited to that, but the blessing is shared with all who are involved. People tend to absorb everything as their own and think about things around themselves, but talent, gifts, and possessions are not all for themselves. They are given to us because God loves his people.

Once you become a Christian, be free from that tendency to think about yourself (Galatians 6:10) and, specifically, we want to think of ourselves in a bloody family, church, workplace, school. As long as you have a benefit, you try to maintain that relationship, and conversely, if doing so causes you any disadvantages, inconveniences, or pains, you keep away from it. It will be normal in the world. But Christians are not. He thinks that things that are going on in that relationship will stand up even if he is at a disadvantage. That is because Christians are no longer free from the propensity to think about things on their own.

If you can think that you are being made a Christian now because all the people around you, such as blood-related families, churches, workplaces, and schools, are celebrated, it is a sign of growth. On the contrary, even if you feel disadvantaged by belonging to this church, family, workplace, or school, you can love the people around you to overcome any difficulties and build in the right direction. If that happens, it can be said to be a sign of growth. The author of the Hebrews says. “By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.　By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time.”　(Hebrews 11:23-25) 　Moses used his gifts, talents, and positions to share suffering with God’s people. But only then was a great Exodus possible. There is no miracle by God in a life that only thinks about oneself. I pray that today will be a good day.
