旧約聖書に登場するダビデの物語は、そのような極限の状況で人がどのように立ち上がるのかを描いています。これは単なる昔話ではなく、「危機にどう向き合うか」という、現代の私たちにも通じるテーマを持っています。
2．ダビデの危機：支援者に見捨てられる
前の29章で見たように、ダビデは同胞イスラエルとの戦いを免れました。しかし、その直後に家へ戻ると、家々は荒らされ、家族は連れ去られていました。留守中に、昔から敵対していたアマレク人が町を襲ったのです。これは単なる「不運」ではなく、複雑な政治や民族の対立の中で起きた出来事でした。
部下たちは悲しみと怒りをダビデにぶつけ、「ダビデを石で打ち殺そう」とまで言い出します。もともとサウル王の妬みによって不当な扱いを受けていたダビデにとって、支えてくれるはずの仲間からも見捨てられるのは、まさに絶体絶命の危機でした。
このような状況は、ダビデだけでなくイエスも経験しています。イエスも弟子たちに見捨てられ、神にさえ見放されたと感じるほどの孤独を味わいました。人生は時に残酷です。現代で例えるなら、会社や組織のリーダーが、外部からの圧力や内部の不満で孤立するような状況に近いかもしれません。
3．ダビデの対応：主によって奮い立つ
このような極限状態で、ダビデはどのように立ち直ったのでしょうか。聖書には「ダビデは自分の神、主によって奮い立った」と書かれています。これは単に「気合を入れた」という意味ではありません。
ヘブル語の原語では、「神を思い出し、その約束を信じて心を強くした」というニュアンスがあります。つまり、「自分の力ではなく、信頼できる存在に立ち返った」ということです。神が見捨てない限り、どんな苦境にも希望は残されています。ダビデは神を恨むのではなく、信頼し、前を向きました。ピンチをチャンスに変える力は、神の誠実さへの信頼から生まれるのです。
4．具体的な行動と神の助け
その後、ダビデは感情に流されず、神に「どうすべきか」を尋ねます。これは現代で言えば、パニックにならず、信頼できる原則や価値観に立ち返って判断することに似ています。
ダビデは仲間を連れて追跡を始めます。途中で200人は疲れて残りますが、400人で進軍します。そこで、瀕死のエジプト人奴隷に出会い、この人が敵の居場所を教えてくれました。これは偶然のように見えますが、聖書は「神の導き」として描いています。現代的に言えば、「危機の中で出会う小さな助けを見逃さない」ということです。
その結果、ダビデたちは家族を無事に取り戻すことができました
5．恵みの分かち合い：ダビデの選択
帰り道、ベソル川で途中でついていけなくなった兵士たちと合流した際、戦利品をどう分けるかで揉めごとが起きます。「戦った者だけがもらうべきだ」という声に対し、ダビデは「これは神が与えたもの。だから、戦った者も後方で守った者も同じだ」と答えます。
さらに、ダビデは自分の部隊だけでなく、同じように苦しんでいたユダの人々にも戦利品の一部を贈りました。彼は私利私欲に走らず、神の恵みをできるだけ多くの人と分かち合う姿勢を貫いたのです。現代で言えば、会社の成功を一部の人だけで独占せず、支えてくれた人や地域にも還元することに似ています。
6．まとめ
この物語は、危機の中で信頼できる価値に立ち返ること、小さな助けを「偶然」と片付けず大切にすること、そして成功や恵みを分かち合うことの大切さを教えています。
信仰を持つ人にとっては、それは「神への信頼」ですが、信仰がない方にとっても「自分を超えた価値や原則に立ち返る」という姿勢は共感できるのではないでしょうか。

Season 6: 1 Samuel 30 – Be Strong in the Lord
1. Why should we read this story?
In life, we sometimes face sudden trouble or betrayal. What would you do if you lost your family or friends?
The story of David in the Old Testament shows how a person can stand up again in a very hard time. This is not just an old story. It teaches us how to face a crisis, something important for us today.
2. David’s Crisis: Left Alone by His Men
In the last chapter (29), David escaped a battle against his own people, Israel. But when he came home, his town was burned and his family was taken away. While he was away, the Amalekites, old enemies of Israel, attacked the town.
This was not just “bad luck.” It happened in a time of political and tribal conflict.
David’s men were very angry and even wanted to kill him. For David, who had already suffered from King Saul’s jealousy, this was the worst moment.
Jesus also experienced this kind of loneliness. His friends left him, and he even felt God was far away. Life can be very hard. Today, this is like a leader in a company who faces outside pressure and inside anger at the same time.
3. David’s Response: Be Strong in the Lord
What did David do in this terrible situation? The Bible says, “David found strength in the Lord his God.” This does not mean “he tried harder.”
In the original language, it means “he remembered God and trusted His promise.” David did not trust his own power. He trusted someone greater.
When we trust God, there is always hope. David did not blame God. He looked forward with faith. The power to turn a crisis into a chance comes from trust in God’s faithfulness.
4. Action and God’s Help
After that, David asked God what to do. He did not act in panic. He looked for guidance. This is like returning to your values before making a big decision.
David and his men started to chase the enemy. Two hundred men were too tired and stayed behind, but 400 continued. On the way, they found a sick Egyptian slave. He showed them where the enemy was.
It looks like luck, but the Bible says it was God’s plan. In life, we should not ignore small help in hard times.
Finally, David and his men won and brought back their families
5. Sharing the Blessing: David’s Choice
On the way back, some men said, “Only the fighters should get the reward.” But David said, “No. God gave this to us. Those who stayed behind will share too.”
David also sent gifts to other towns in Judah. He did not keep everything for himself. He shared with many people.
Today, this is like a company sharing success with all workers and even helping the local community.
