サウルは父親に頼まれて、いなくなった雌ろばを探しに出かけます（9章3節）。普通なら、「神がサウルを王にしたいなら、直接サムエルに会わせればいいのに」と思うかもしれません。しかし、神はあえて日常の出来事を通して、ご自身の計画を進められました。それは一見偶然のように見えますが、実は神の「摂理（せつり）」と呼ばれる働きです。つまり、目には見えなくても、神が物事を動かしているという考え方です。
2-2．日常と信仰のつながり
私たちも、日常の中で「なぜこんな面倒なことが起こるのだろう」と感じることがあります。しかし、信仰の目で見ると、そこにも神の導きがあるかもしれません。たとえば、教会では祈ったり聖書を読んだりしますが、会社では仕事や計画が中心になります。「神のことは教会だけ」と考えてしまうと、日常の中で神の声を聞くことはできません。
聖書には「何をするにも、主のために働きなさい」（コロサイ3:23）、「すべてのことを神の栄光のために行いなさい」（1コリント10:31）と書かれています。つまり、神の支配は礼拝の場だけでなく、職場や家庭にも及んでいるという信仰を持って、私たちは生活するように教えられているのです。
例えてみれば人生は、すぐに結論が出ない恋愛ドラマのようなものでしょう。しかし、そこで起こる一つ一つの出来事を、神はよい結果へとつなげてくださいます。そのように身の回りの出来事を捉えて生きていくことが、信仰を持つことの意味なのです。
3．神の召しと人間の限界
3-1．サウルの人間性と霊的な感性
サウルは、父親を思いやる優しい人物でした。また、初めて会うサムエルに手土産を持っていくことを気にする、常識的な感覚も持っていました。しかし、雌ろばの出来事を神の計画と結びつけて考える感性は持っていませんでした。
ただ私たちも、日常の中で神の導きを感じるのは簡単ではありません。それは、私たちの感性が十分に育っていないだけでなく、神の計画が私たちの思いを超えていることが多いからです。しかし、神はそのような私たちの限界を超えて働かれる方です。
3-2．神の計画の不思議さ
サウルは自分のことを「つまらない者です」と言いました（21節）。神は、そのようなサウルでも、目を留められました。そして、サウルの感性の鈍さを補うように、若い従者の一言を通してサムエルと出会うきっかけを作られたのです。神は、私たちが気づかない時でも、人や出来事を通してヒントを与え、進むべき道を示してくださいます。
神の計画は、私たちの予想をはるかに超えています。「こんなこと、ありえない」と思うようなことも、神はなさるのです。だからこそ、人生は面白いのです。
4．まとめ：日常における神の導きを意識する
神は、礼拝や祈りの場だけでなく、日常のすべての場面に働かれます。雌ろばを探すような出来事にも、神の意図が隠れているかもしれません。そのように考える感性を養うことが、信仰者としての歩みなのです。

1. Introduction: Why Should We Read Saul’s Story?
1 Samuel chapter 9 tells the story of Saul, the first king of Israel.
But this is not just an old story. It teaches us important lessons about God’s plan and how people are involved in it.
Saul became king because of a simple event—his father’s female donkeys went missing.
You might think, “Really? That’s all?” But the Bible shows us that even ordinary events can be part of God’s plan.
2. God’s Plan Hidden in Daily Life
2-1. Searching for Donkeys and God’s Providence
Saul was asked by his father to go and look for the missing donkeys (1 Samuel 9:3).
Normally, we might think, “If God wanted Saul to be king, why not just send him directly to Samuel?”
But God chose to work through a normal event.
It looked like a coincidence, but it was actually part of God’s “providence.”
This means that even when we don’t see it, God is working behind the scenes.
2-2. Connecting Faith and Daily Life
We often ask, “Why do these small problems happen in life?”
But with faith, we can believe that God may be guiding us through them.
In church, we pray and read the Bible. At work, we focus on tasks and plans.
If we think “God only works in church,” we miss His voice in daily life.
The Bible says, “Work at everything as if you are working for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23),
and “Do everything for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).
This means God’s rule is not only in worship, but also in our homes and workplaces.
Life is like a drama that doesn’t give answers quickly.
But God connects each event and leads us to a good ending.
Living with this view is what it means to have faith.
3. God’s Calling and Human Limits
3-1. Saul’s Personality and Spiritual Sensitivity
Saul was kind and thoughtful toward his father.
He also had good manners, like wanting to bring a gift when meeting Samuel.
But he didn’t see the missing donkeys as part of God’s plan.
We are often the same. It’s hard to see God’s guidance in daily life.
This is not just because we lack sensitivity, but because God’s plan is often beyond our understanding.
Still, God works even when we don’t notice.
3-2. The Mystery of God’s Plan
Saul said, “I am a nobody” (verse 21).
But God saw him and chose him.
God used a young servant’s words to lead Saul to Samuel (verse 6).
Even when we don’t notice, God gives us hints through people and events.
God’s plan is greater than we expect.
He does things we think are impossible.
That’s why life with God is full of hope and wonder.

God works not only in worship and prayer, but in every part of our daily life.
