人間の社会は実に不条理に思われることがあるものです。時に、右を見ても左を見ても不真実な人々ばかり、誠実さの一欠けらもないと思わされることもあるものでしょう。しかし、たとえそのように現実を感じることがあっても、神の真実さにかけて、物事がよき結果となることを信じて前に進んでいくのがキリスト者です。
1．背景
この詩篇の背景として考えられるのは、Ⅰサムエル記22:9、23:12、19とされます。それはダビデがサウルの手から逃れようとしていた時に、ダビデの消息を告げ口する者たちがいた状況です。そこで1節「主よ。お救いください。敬虔な人は後を絶ち、誠実な人は人の子らの中から消え去りました。」は、神を恐れ、神を敬う人がどんどん少なくなっていく、そして、信頼できるような人を探してもいない。右を見ても左を見ても、平気で嘘偽りを並べ立てる者たちばかりである、という状況を語っているのです。「へつらい」は、調子の良いことを言うことで、「二心」は、心にないことを言うことに他なりません。問題は、そのような品性の卑しい者が、状況を左右する力を持ってしまう事態に置かれることです。
それは、実に窮地に立たせられることでしょう。自分の知らないところで、自分を追い詰めるような動きがある、物事が動く原理原則として正義が通用しない、悪しき者が思うままに振る舞い、それに歯止めをかける者もいないのです。神すら沈黙し、その状況を許されているかのように思える事態。そんな状況は勘弁したいと思うところですが、それが現実となって生じることもあるでしょう。そのような時には、「主が、へつらいの唇と傲慢の舌とを、ことごとく断ち切ってくださいますように」（3節）と心から叫び祈らざるを得ない気もちになるとは、よくわかることです。
また、人間は弱く、そのような偽りの舌の間で、自らも影響されてしまうことがあります。人の偽りを憎みながら、自らも偽った生き方をしてします。けれども、まことに神を信じる誠実な心を持つ者にとって、偽り続けることは難しいものです。自分から誠実さが失われていくことに耐えがたい思いがするものです。「この唇はわれらものもだ」（4節）、つまり何を言ったっていいじゃないか、と考えている人たちとは違うのです。
2．主は言われる。
5節、このように祈る詩人に主が約束されます。「わたしは彼を、その求める救いに入れよう」（5節）。悩む人が踏みにじられ、貧しい人が嘆く、そのような状況を神は決して放置されることはありません。神は、エジプトで奴隷状態であったイスラエルを救い出されました。また、祭司長や律法学者など、当時の指導者層に憎まれ、十字架に追い詰められ、死に葬られたイエスを、三日目に復活させました。主の救いは、真実な約束です。この世の偽りと欺きの現実がいかに色濃くあろうとも、主の真実は明らかにそれらに勝っています。
確かに、主の言葉は、るつぼで精錬された銀のように、試されたことば、練られたことばであって、それはへつらいの唇でも、口先でも、気休めのことばでもありません。それは、人間のことばとは全く違うものです。歴史的に試されて、繰り返し確かであると証明されたことばです。その真実な言葉を語られる主が言われるのです。「今、わたしは立ち上がる」（5節）そして、踏みにじられた者、貧しい者、嘆く者を助け出そう！と。私は嘘を言わない！と。
希望がないと思う時にこそ、この主の言葉に力づけられましょう。8節、「人の子の間で」は、「この世の人間社会で」の意味に理解してよいでしょう。「卑しいことがあがめられる」、つまり嘘偽りによって国中に不道徳と不条理が蔓延っている状況を語っています。正義が全く踏みにじられ、神も死んだと言われる状況です。しかしたとえそうであっても、神のことばは真実である、神は約束に誠実なお方である、と信頼し、なすべきことを淡々と進める歩みをさせていただきましょう。夜は必ず明けるのです。

Psalms 12 True word of God
Human society can seem truly absurd. Sometimes we look to the right and to the left and see only untruthful people and not a shred of sincerity. However, even when we feel this way, it is the Christian who moves forward with faith in God’s truthfulness, believing that things will turn out for the better.
1. Background
The possible background for this Psalm is I Sam 22:9, 23:12, 19. It is a situation in which David was trying to escape from the hand of Saul, and there were those who told him of David’s disappearance. So verse 1: “O Lord! Save us, O Lord! The pious have ceased to follow, and the faithful have disappeared from among the sons of men.” are becoming fewer and fewer people who fear and honor God, and they are not looking for someone they can trust. It speaks of a situation in which one looks to the right and to the left and sees only those who tell lies and falsehoods with impunity. To “heckle” is to talk nicely, and “double-mindedness” is nothing more than to say what is not in one’s heart. The problem is that such a person of low character has the power to influence the situation.
That would be a real quandary. There are things going on that will drive you into a corner that you don’t know about, justice is not the principle by which things work, the wicked do as they please, and there is no one to put a stop to it. A situation where even God is silent and seems to allow the situation to continue. We would like to avoid such a situation, but there will be times when it becomes a reality. At such times, it is understandable that we feel compelled to pray and cry out from the bottom of our hearts, “May the Lord cut off the lips of arrogance and the tongue of arrogance” (verse 3).
And, we human beings are weak, and we ourselves can be influenced by such false tongues. They hate the deceitfulness of others and live deceitfully themselves. But it is difficult for those with sincere hearts who truly believe in God to continue to be false. It is unbearable to lose one’s integrity. This is not the case with those who think, “These are our lips” (v. 4), that is, it doesn’t matter what they say.
2. the Lord says.
In verse 5, the Lord promises the psalmist who prays this way. I will bring him into the salvation he seeks” (v. 5). God will never leave such a situation where the afflicted are trampled upon and the poor mourn. God delivered Israel from slavery in Egypt. He resurrected Jesus on the third day, who was hated by the leaders of the time, such as the chief priests and the scribes, and was driven to the cross and buried to death. The salvation of the Lord is a true promise. No matter how strong the reality of the world’s falsehoods and deceptions may be, the Lord’s truth clearly outweighs them.
Indeed, the Lord’s words, like silver refined in a crucible, are tested and seasoned words; they are not words of humility, or of talk, or of comfort. They are not words of humility, or of the lips, or of the lips, or of the mind, but words that are completely different from human words. They are words that have been tested historically and proven repeatedly to be true. It is the Lord, who speaks these true words, who says, “Now I stand. Now I will arise” (v. 5) and rescue the trampled, the poor, and the sorrowful! And He says, “I will not lie! I will not tell lies! And.
Let us be strengthened by these words of the Lord just when we think there is no hope. v. 8, “among the sons of men” may be understood to mean “in the human society of this world. It speaks of a situation in which immorality and absurdity prevail throughout the land through lies and deceit. It is a situation in which justice is completely trampled upon and God is said to be dead. But even so, let us trust that God’s Word is true, that God is faithful to His promises, and let us proceed with what needs to be done in a straightforward manner. The night will surely dawn.
