26、27章の2章をもって、ヨブと三人の友人たちとの対話は終了します。実際には、ヨブの言葉は31 章まで続きますが、28章以降はヨブの独白です。まずヨブは、26、27章で、ビルダデに答えています。
１．あなたの知恵が何の役に立つのか（26:1-4）
ビルダデよ。また友よ。あなたは自分を知者だと思っているが、どれだけ無力で苦しんでいる者を助け、どれだけの賢明さを示すことができたのか。あなたたちは「一つの霊」が迫ったとか（4:15）「悟りの霊」が答えさせた（20:3）などと大きなことを語るが、その「霊」とは誰の「霊」（息）なのか、と皮肉たっぷりです。つまり、ヨブはツォファルにしても、ビルダデにしても、それが神から受けて語ったことばとしては認めることができないでいるのです。そして5節以降、ヨブはビルダデの言葉に対する反論を展開しています。ビルダデは、神の至高性を強調し、人間の不完全さと卑しさを力説しました。しかしヨブにもその程度のことはわかっています。ですから彼は、後で述べるように、神の至高性を、天上のことだけではなく、この地と地下にも及ぶとより広く語るのです。つまり、あなたがたの言うことは表面的で考察が足りない、と言わんばかりです。
いささか脱線しますが、よく人に話を聞いてもらいたいと言う人はいますが、人に自分の問題をわかってもらえると思うのがそもそもの間違いでしょう。誰かに悩みをわかってもらいたい、と口を開いても後悔するばかり、結局は、誰にもわかってもらえない現実というものがあるからです。しかし人は、誰かがわかってくれる、と諦めきれずに、あの人に語りこの人に語りを繰り返すのです。人の経験は、それぞれ千差万別であり、似通っていることがあっても決して同じではありません。ですから人に悩みを話してわかってもらえたと思ったのに、後で傷つけられることもあるのです。とすれば、悩みを自分の内に秘めて、解決を神の時に委ねて祈る方がより現実的、建設的でしょう。人に期待し過ぎる愚かさがあります。これは逆もまた真で、人の悩み事を聞いて、それがわかると思うことがあればそれもまた間違いと言うべきでしょう。誰も人の人生の深みに連れそうことはできないものです。あなたの悩みは完全にはわからないし、出来ることも思い当たらないが、支えになれることがあったらなりたい、と距離を保ちながらも共にあり続けることの方が真実と言うべきです。
２．神をどれほど理解できるというのか（26:5-14）
さて、神の御力はこの世ばかりではない、よみの世界にも及びます。「死者の霊たち（5節）」は、まさに死人のことを指しています。確かに、天も地も（10-11節）、そして海も（12節）すべて神の御力の下にあります。「ラハブ」（12節）は当時一般に知られ、恐れられた海の怪物で、「逃げる蛇」（13節）も当時の神話に関連した表現です。当時恐れられた全ての力に、神が勝ると語ります。そして私たちは、神のみわざのほんの一部しか目撃していない、つまり、人は神を完全に知ることはできないというわけです。神を部分的に見て、わかったつもりになっていることが戒められているのです。使徒パウロは言いました。「今、私は一部分しか知りませんが、その時には、私が完全に知られているのと同じように、私も完全に知ることになります」（1コリント13:12）。確かに、人間に神を知り尽くすことはできません。しかしそうであればこそ、人間にとって大切なのは、一層神の深さを思い、その至高性を賛美することです。そして力ある創造主の前にただ遜っていく、今日もこの謙遜さを心に歩ませていただきましょう。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります。

Job 26: Job’s Argument Against Bildad’s Third Argument
Chapters 26 and 27 conclude the dialogue between Job and his three friends. In fact, Job’s words continue until chapter 31, but from chapter 28 onward is Job’s monologue. First, Job answers Bildadé in chapters 26 and 27.
1. what good is your wisdom (26:1-4)
O Bildad, my friend! You consider yourself a man of knowledge, but how much have you helped the helpless and afflicted, and how much wisdom have you shown? You speak of great things, such as “one spirit” pressing in (4:15) and “the spirit of understanding” making you answer (20:3), but whose “spirit” (breath) is this “spirit”? In other words, Job is unable to admit that either Zophar or Bildad spoke the words they received from God. Then, from verse 5 onward, Job develops a counterargument to Bildad’s words. Bildad emphasized the supremacy of God and stressed the imperfection and lowliness of man. But even Job knows the extent of this. So he speaks more broadly of God’s supremacy as extending not only to the heavens but also to this earth and the underworld, as we shall see later, and comes to a different conclusion. In other words, he is saying that what you say is superficial and lacking in consideration.
To digress somewhat, people often say that they want people to listen to them, but it is a mistake to think that people can understand their problems. Even if you open your mouth and say you want someone to understand your problems, you will only regret it, because in the end, the reality is that no one can understand you. However, people keep talking to this person and that person, hoping that someone else will understand. People’s experiences are very different from one another, and even though they may be similar, they are never the same. Therefore, we may think that we have told someone about our problems and they understand us, but later they may hurt us. Therefore, it is more realistic and constructive to keep our problems to ourselves and leave them to God to solve in His time. There is the folly of expecting too much from others. The reverse is also true. If we ever listen to someone’s problems and think we understand them, we are also mistaken. No one can take you into the depths of a person’s life. It is more true to say, “I don’t completely understand your problems, and I can’t think of anything I can do to help you, but if there is anything I can do to support you, I would like to be there for you,” while maintaining a distance and remaining together.
2. how well do we understand God (26:5-14)
God’s power is not limited to this world, but extends to the world of the dead. The “spirits of the dead” (v. 5) refer to the very dead. Indeed, the heavens, the earth (vv. 10-11), and the sea (v. 12) are all under God’s power. Rahab” (v. 12) was a sea monster commonly known and feared in those days, and “fleeing serpents” (v. 13) is also a reference to the mythology of the time. The “fleeing serpent” (v. 13) is also a reference to the mythology of the time. But “these,” Job says, “are but the outward appearance of God’s works” (v. 14), that is, they are only part of the picture. In other words, we have only witnessed a small part of God’s work, which means that one can never fully know God. We are warned against seeing God partially and thinking we know Him. The apostle Paul said, “Now I only know in part. The apostle Paul said, “Now I know only in part, but then I will know fully, just as I am fully known” (1 Cor. 13:12). It is true that man cannot know God fully. But that being the case, it is important for human beings to contemplate the depths of God and praise His supremacy. Let us walk with this humility in our hearts today as well. I pray that today will be another good day.
