22章 長となったダビデ

1．ダビデの仲間
ダビデの人生に転機が訪れました。もはやダビデは、一人ではなかったのです。ダビデはユダにあるアドラムに避難しました。また、身の危険を感じた家族、そして、彼を頼る者たちが彼のもとに集まってきました。「困窮している者」「抑圧されている者」「負債のある者」「不満のある者」つまり集まってきた者たちは、変革を求める者たちであり、ダビデは彼らの長となるのです。
この時期にダビデが書いた詩篇は、34、57、142篇の三つであるとされます。ダビデは告白します。「ご覧ください。私の右に目を注いでください。私には顧みてくれる人がいません。私は逃げ場さえも失って私のいのちを気にかける人もいないのです。【主】よ私はあなたに叫びます。「あなたこそ私の避け所生ける者の地での私の受ける分。」（詩篇142:4，5）ダビデは、人に望みを置くことができませんでした。そこで彼は、ただひたすら神に自分の望みを置いたのです。ちょうど、アブラハムやヤコブが神にのみ望みを置いたように、ダビデもアブラハムの子として、その足跡をたどっていくのです。
困窮している者は、サウル王の統治下にあって、これでは生活していけないという者たちです。そのような者たちがダビデの保護を求めてやってきました。しかし考えてみれば、ダビデ自身、食べるものもなかったことがわかるでしょう。彼は、祭司のパンを求めるほどに困窮していました（21:6）。ですから「困窮していた者」というのは、ただ貧しい者が集まってきたというのではないのです。むしろ、貧しさの中にあって、神により頼んでいるダビデに共感し、同じように、神に解決を求める信仰者が集まってきたということです。負債のある者も同じです。負債から逃れる道は、神を呼ばわることにあり、とダビデの姿勢に解決を見いだした者たちです。また不満のある者、失望し、挫折し、心の落ち着きを失った者たちも同様でしょう。彼らは、自分の力を頼みとするサウルではなく、神のみことばに立つダビデにこそ、自分たちの人生の活路を見いだした者たちでした。
ですからダビデは言うのです。「来なさい。子たちよ。私に聞きなさい。【主】を恐れることを教えよう」（詩篇34:11）。つまりダビデは、自分のもとに集まる者たちに、神を恐れることをまず教えていくのです。そして言います「苦しむ者が叫ぶと【主】は聞かれそのすべての苦難から救い出してくださる。【主】は心の打ち砕かれた者の近くにおられ霊の砕かれた者を救われる。」（詩篇34:17，18）。ダビデは、信仰を持って神に助けを求める者の長となっていくのです。
2．ダビデを匿った代償
一方、サウルは「ギブアにある高台のタマリスクの木の下で、槍を手にして座っていた。」（6節）とあります。サウルの粛清が始まりました。サウルは競争相手のことで頭がいっぱいで、不従順なものを一人残らず排除しようとしたのです。そして彼の仲間に加えられたのは、神を敬わないエドム人ドエグでした。またサウルに忠実に具申する祭司アヒメレクは、敵とみなされていきます。アヒメレクは弁解も許されずに、サウルの敵ダビデを助け、その動向を報告する義務を怠ったと非難され、家族諸共に死刑を宣告されています。
主にあって王となり、主の霊を経験した王が、今や主のしもべたちを殺戮するものと、様変わりしていくのです。こうして祭司の一族は、女、子ども、そして家畜に至るまで殺められてしまいます。かつてサウルは、欲を出して、アマレク人を全滅させることを躊躇いましたが、神の民に対しては何の容赦もありませんでした。サウルにとってもはや、主の祭司は「つまらない、値打ちのないもの」だったのでしょう（1サムエル15:9）。
人生の荒れ地にあって、人はどこに向かおうとするものでしょうか。永遠の主権を持つ神を信頼する群れと共に生きようとしているでしょうか。それともあなたは、畑やぶどう畑を与え、あなたを千人隊の長、百人隊の長に任命することができる（7節）権威者、しかしその権威もいずれ滅びるかもしれない者と共に生きようとしているのでしょうか。世の中争いごとが起こるたびに、どこに立つかということを考えさせられるところです。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります。

Chapter 22 David who became the chief
- 1. David’s companion
A turning point has come to David’s life. David was no longer alone. David evacuated to Adrum in Judah. Also, his family, who felt his danger, and those who depended on him, gathered with him. “People in need,” “those who were distress,” “those who were in debt,” “those who are discounted,” that is, those who have gathered, are those who seek change, and David will be their head.
It is said that there are three psalms written by David during this period: 34, 57, and 142. David confesses. “Look to my right; no-one is concerned for me. I have no refuge; no-one cares for my life. I cry to you, O Lord; I say, “You are my refuge my portion in the land of the living.” (Psalm 142: 4, 5) David could not put hope in others. So he just put his hope in God. Just as Abraham and Jacob had hope only in God, David would follow in his footsteps as Abraham’s son.
Those in need are those who are under the rule of King Saul and cannot live on this. Such people have come to seek the protection of David. But if you think about it, you’ll find that David himself had nothing to eat. He was so distressed that he asked for the priest’s bread (21: 6). Therefore, “the one who was in need” is not just the gathering of the poor. Rather, it means that in poverty, believers who sympathize with David, who is begging for God, and likewise seek a solution from God, have gathered. The same is true for those who are in debt. Those who have found a solution in David’s stance that the way to escape debt is to call God. And so will those who are dissatisfied, disappointed, frustrated, and restless. They were the ones who found their way of life in David, who stands in the Word of God, not in Saul, who relies on his power.
That’s why David says. “Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord” (Psalm 34:11). In other words, David first teaches those who gather under him to fear God. And he says, “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and savers those who are crushed in spirit. “(Psalm 34:17, 18). David will become the head of those who have faith and seek help from God.
- The price of hiding David
Saul, meanwhile, says, “Saul, spear in hand, was seated under the tamarisk tree on the hill at Gibeath, ” (ver.6). Saul’s purge has begun. Saul was full of his competitors and tried to get rid of all the disobedient ones. And Doeg was added to his companion, an Edomite who does not respect God. Also, Ahimelech, a priest who faithfully declares to Saul, is regarded as an enemy. Ahimelech was sentenced to death for all his family members, accused of helping Saul’s enemy David and failing to report on the development, without excuses.
The king who became the king in the Lord and experienced the spirit of the Lord is now transformed into the one who kills the servants of the Lord. Thus the priestly clan is killed, including women, children, and even livestock. Once Saul was greedy and hesitated to annihilate the Amalekites, but had no mercy on God’s people. For Saul, the priest of the Lord would no longer be “despised and weak” (1 Samuel 15: 9).
Where do people go in the wasteland of life? Are you trying to live with a flock that trusts God with eternal sovereignty? Or you are trying to live with an authority who can give you a field or a vineyard and appoint you as the head of a thousand or a hundred (verse 7), but whose authority may eventually perish? Every time there is a conflict in the world, it makes me think about where to stand. I pray that today will be a good day.
