1列王記1章　さらなる謀反（アドニヤの場合）

1．アドニヤの反乱

ダビデ王の晩年、列王記は後継者問題から書き起こします。サムエル記の後半は、ダビデの事業継承問題を巡って、ダビデ自身の人間的な弱さが様々に暴露されたという形でした。その流れで実際の事業継承がどのようになされたかが明らかにされていきます。

ダビデには、六人の子供がいました。アムノン（長男）とアブシャロム（三男）の死後、四男のアドニヤが王位を狙うようになりました。次男のキルアブについては何も語られておらず、既に死んでいたと思われています。アドニヤは野心を抱き、戦車、騎兵を手にいれ、自分が王となるための既成事実を作ろうとしました。彼は、体格もよくそれなりに評価される人物であったようですが、誰もが彼を支持するわけではありませんでした。アドニヤは、自分を慕う者たちを招いて宴会を開きました。この時、ダビデは、ソロモンを王にすることを既に決めていたようでしたが、公式発表もされていなかったことから、アドニヤは、自らの野心を膨らませたのでしょう。アドニヤは自らを王と宣言するのです。

2．ダビデの対応

アドニヤの行動は、既に王と定められていたソロモンとソロモンの母のいのちを危ういものにしました。預言者ナタンが動き始めます。彼は、王に決定事項を周知させるよう迫ったのです。ダビデも動きました。ダビデはたいそうな高齢になっていましたが、まだ頭はしっかりしていたと言うべきでしょう。アドニヤの計略は、こうして水の泡と化してしまうのです。人は、自分の未来を思い描きあれこれ画策するものですが、神のご計画されたことが実現していくのです。

であれば神が何をこの時代に計画しているのか、そして人はどのようにこの時代にあって、神にお仕えしていくのがよいのかを考えることが大事でしょう。自分が人の上であるかのように思い、行動してしまうところに、すべての衝突と混乱の原因があるように思います。イエスは、「自分に言いつけられたことをみな、してしまったら、『私たちは役に立たないしもべです。なすべきことをしただけです』と言いなさい。」（ルカ17:10）と語られましたが、実に、人は神に仕える者、神のしもべであることを忘れてはなりません。いつでも，神のみこころを覚えて、みこころならばあれをなし、これをなそうという、謙虚な心を持つことなのです。しかし、人は、神の主権を認めることができず、むしろ神の上に立ち、都合よく神をの名を口にするだけです。

3．アドニヤの反乱の失敗

アドニヤは、自分のいのちを救うために、逃げ出し、祭壇の角にしがみついたとされます。祭壇の角は、赦しのためのいけにえの血が塗られる（レビ4:7,18）場所で、その行為は、事件の裁判がなされるまで神の保護を求めることを意味しました。アドニヤは、自分のいのちを救うために、信仰を利用したのです。

信仰とは何でしょうか。人は神の名を口にし、祈り、ささげ物をしますが、それは、自分の守りのため、繁栄のため、つまり神を自分の奴隷とするための行為です。主客転倒しているのです。信仰とは、まさに神を信じる行為、神の権威のもとに遜り（Humble）、従う行為でしょう。それは、かつて天地を創造し、今もなおそれらを支配し、永遠に生きておられる神を認め、神のみこころを思い、神にお仕えしていく行為です。それは、自分の小さな野心を神の名を持ち出して実現する以上の意味あることです。神の権威を認め、神にお従いする信仰の歩みをこそ心掛けたいものです。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります。

1．Adonijah Rebellion

In the later years of King David, the books of Kings are transcribed from the issue of his successor. The second half of the book of Samuel was in the form of various exposures of David’s own human weaknesses over the issue of David’s business succession. With that flow, it will be clarified how the actual business succession was done.

David had six children. After the deaths of Amnon (his eldest son) and Abshalom (third son), his fourth son, Adonijah, began to seek the throne. Nothing was said about his second son, Kirab, and he is believed to have already died. Adonijah was ambitious, got chariots and cavalry, and he tried to make a preconceived fact for himself to become a king. He seemed to have a good reputation for his physique, but not everyone supported him. Adonijah invited those who longed for him to a banquet. At this time, David seemed to have already decided to make Solomon king, but since no official announcement had been made, Adonijah would have inflated his ambitions. Adonijah declares himself a king.

２．David’s response

Adonijah’s actions jeopardized the lives of Solomon and Solomon’s mother, who had already been appointed kings. The Prophet Nathan begins to move. He urged the king to inform him of his decision. David also moved. David was very old, but he should still say that his head was clear. Adonijah’s strategy thus turns into water bubbles. People envision their future and plan things, but what God has planned will come true.

Then it is important to think about what God is planning for this era and how one should serve God in this era. I think that the cause of all conflicts and confusion lies in the fact that you think and act as if you were on top of others. Jesus said, “If you have done everything that you have been told, say, “when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, “we are unworthy servants we have only done our duty'” (Luke 17:10). However, we must not forget that man is a servant of God, a servant of God. Always have a humble heart to remember God’s will, to do it if it is, and to do it. However, one cannot recognize God’s sovereignty, but rather stands on God and conveniently speaks of God.

3. Adonijah’s Rebellion Failure

Adonijah is said to have escaped and clung to the corner of the altar to save his life. The corner of the altar was the place where the blood of the sacrifice for forgiveness was smeared (Le 4: 7,18), and the act meant seeking God’s protection until the case was tried. Adonijah used his faith to save his life.

What is faith? People speak the name of God, pray, and make offerings, which are acts for their own protection, for prosperity, that is, for making God their slave. That is putting the cart before the horse. Faith is just the act of believing in God, the act of humbled and obeyed under the authority of God. It is the act of recognizing God who is creating heaven and earth, still controlling them, living forever. In addition, it is thinking of God’s will, and serving God. It is more than just bringing out the name of God to realize your little ambitions. We want to recognize the authority of God and keep in mind the course of faith that obey God.
