13章　神の人の預言と死

1．神の言葉の確からしさ

無名の預言者が神のことばを受け、それをヤロブアム王に伝えました。伝えられた預言は、300年後、つまりヨシア王の時代に実現します（2列王23:15-20）。この預言者は、ヤロブアム王の脅しにも、また懐柔にも動ぜず、淡々と使命を果たし帰って行きます。ところが、そこに現れたベテルの年寄りの預言者に騙されて、彼は自らの預言どおりに死んでしまうのです。しかしその死を通して、年寄りの預言者は、神の言葉の確かさを確信するのです（32節）。このエピソードは何を語っているのか、騙されて不本意な形で死んでしまう預言者について、理解の苦しむ思いがします。しかし、考えさせられることは、神のことばの確かさというのは、他人に対するものではなく自分自身に対するものである、と思い当たります。たとえ誰がなんと言おうと、神に語られたと信じることばには固執すべきなのでしょう。たとえ同業者からの助言であれ、自ら確認する慎重さが必要であったのです。ヨハネは黙示録で、この書の預言のことばに付け加えるなら～、あるいは取り除くなら～、と最後に述べています。その意図と同じように、神が語られたことは、語られたこととして受け止め、そこに修整を加えてはならなかったのです。神のことばへの固執を怠った預言者に、裁きがくだったことは当然のことと言うべきでしょう。神は、私たち一人一人に語られるのですから、語られたと思うことを揺るがされる事態があるならば、自ら再び神の前に出て、神のことばをとことん確かめていくことです。

死体が葬られないままに放置されたということは、呪いを意味しました。家族から離れて、見知らぬ者達の間に葬られることは不名誉なことでした。また獅子が死体をかき裂きもせず、騾馬に爪を掛けもしなかったのは、これがやはり神のさばきであることを示すしるしだったということでしょう。

2．自ら神に向かう

人は神のことばを直接的にではなく、間接的に聞いていることが多い。私たちは、朝毎に聖書に向かい、神の声に心を集中させ、神から直接語られているでしょうか。いや、むしろ信仰図書を読み、知的に考察して満足してはいないでしょうか。聖書そのものに向かい、直接神の声を聞く、そのような訓練を自分に課す必要があるのでしょう。もちろん、神の言葉を直接的に聞くというのは、もう牧師も必要ではない、ということではありません。私たちは、毎週牧師を通して礼拝の説教を聞くことで、神のことばを聞き、同時に神のことばの聞き方を訓練されているのです。牧師の指導のもと聞き方を訓練されながら、自ら神のことばを聞く、これが大切なのです。

3．ヤロブアムの応答

さてヤロブアムは、神の言葉を聞かされながら、それを受け入れようとしませんでした。むしろ、自分に都合のよい信仰の在り方を確保するために、自ら資格無き者を祭司に任命しました。彼は「だれでも志願する者を任職して高き所の祭司にした」（33節）とあります。結局彼は、預言者のことばを退けることで、神よりも自分を重んじ、自己流の宗教を作っていくのです。神が、ヤロブアムの家を、裁かれたのは当然の結果です（34節）。

神のことばを聞いているようでありながら聞かないでいることがあるでしょう。また神のことばを全く聞くつもりはなく、自らが神となってしまう人、それは、よくあることでしょう。大切なのは、神のことばを聞き、これをよく吟味し、そして従う謙虚な心です。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります。

Chapter 13 Prophecy and Death of the Man of God

1.The certainty of the word of God

An unnamed prophet received the word of God and passed it on to King Jeroboam. The prophecies passed down will come true 300 years later, in the time of King Josiah (2 Kings 23: 15-20). This prophet does not move with the threat of King Jeroboam or with humility, and fulfills his mission and returns. However, being deceived by Bethel’s old prophet who appeared there, he died according to his own prophecy. But through his death, the elderly prophet is convinced of the certainty of God’s Word (ver. 32). I find it difficult to understand what this episode is about, a prophet who is deceived and unwillingly dies. But what makes me think is that the certainty of God’s Word is not about others, but about oneself. No matter who says it, we should stick to what we believe to have been told by God. Even if it was advice from a peer, I needed to be careful to confirm it myself. In the apocalypse, John finally states that if he adds or removes from the words of the prophecy of this book. As with that intention, what God said was taken as what was said and should not be modified. It should be taken for granted that the judgment was ruined by the Prophet who neglected to stick to the Word of God. God speaks to each of us, so if there is a situation that shakes what we think we have said, he must come out to God again and confirm the word of God.

The fact that the corpse was left unburied meant a curse. It was a shame to be separated from my family and buried among strangers. Also, the fact that the lion did not tear the corpse and did not claw the mule would be a sign that this was also a judgment of God.

2.Head to God yourself

People often hear the word of God indirectly, not directly. Are we going to the Bible every morning, focusing on God’s voice, and speaking directly from God? No, aren’t you rather satisfied with reading the faith books and thinking intellectually? You will need to impose such training on yourself to go to the Bible itself and hear the voice of God directly. Of course, listening to God’s Word directly does not mean that you no longer need a pastor. We are trained to hear the Word of God and at the same time listen to the Word of God by listening to worship sermons through the pastor every week. It is important to listen to the word of God by yourself while being trained in listening under the guidance of a pastor.

3.Jeroboam’s response

Now Jeroboam, hearing the word of God, refused to accept it. Rather, he himself appointed an unqualified priest to ensure that he had a belief that was convenient for him. He says, “Anyone who wanted to become a priest he consecrated for the high places.” (ver. 33). In the end, by rejecting the words of the Prophet, he values ​​himself more than God and creates his own religion. It is only natural that God judged Jeroboam’s house (ver. 34).

You may seem to hear the word of God but not. Also, it is common for people who do not intend to hear the word of God at all and become God themselves. What is important is a humble heart that listens to, examines, and obey the Word of God. I pray that today will be a good day.
