これまでの議論の中で、ヨブの心の中には、どんどん神と自分を執成し、自分の痛みを贖う方の思想がはっきりとしてきています。しかし、ツォファルは、そんなヨブの考察には全く無関心です。むしろ、彼はヨブのことばを理解することもなく、苛立ちと共に、19:28のヨブのことばに反発するのです。
1．悪しき者の人生も束の間である（20:1-9節）
ツォファルは自分の不快な感情を断言して憚りません。もはや病人ヨブに対する配慮もなく、むかついた思いをぶちまけるのです（2節）。3節「悟りを与える霊」と訳された「霊」は、神の霊ではなく、人間の精神の働きを意味します。つまり、ツォファルは神の霊に動かされてヨブと語ろうとしているわけではなく、自らの思いに突き動かされてヨブに反論しようとしているのです。また4節「地の上」は、その「ちりの上」にかけたことばです。つまりツォファルは、ヨブが語った、よみにおいて土のちりの上に立たれる贖い主の存在（19:25）を否定しています。ヨブよ、そんな夢を見ていないで、現実に立ち返れと言うわけでしょう。話が通じない部分です。
ヨブは完全に悪者にされてしまいました。そして、ツォファルは、再び悪者とその運命について力説します（5節）。悪者は、富の旨味を味わっていたとしても、それが彼を逆にむしばむことになる。彼はいつ神にタイムリミットを宣告されるかもわからないし（11節）、彼は不正に得たものを吐き出すことになる、つまりなにもかも、この地上に置いて行かなくてはならないのだ、と（15節）。
2．悪しき者が神に受ける分は、悲惨な最期である（20:20-29）
ツォファルのことばは長々と続きますが、それは修飾が多いだけで、語っていることは単純です。神の審判が下れば、悪しき者は、結局、自分の貯えた財産を楽しむこともなく、その生涯の幕を閉じてしまう（23節）。その終わりには、恐怖あるのみ（25節）。以前、死に際に「こんな僕は地獄に行くしかない、助けてくれ、祈ってくれ、」と語った老人がいます。死は、一人で通り抜けなければならない最大の試練ですが、そこで罪の呵責に責められたらひとたまりもありません（26節）。ヨブよ、あなたはまさにその判決にさらされているのではないか、（29節）というわけです。外面的な現象に注目すれば、ヨブには隠された罪があるとしか言いようがない、というわけです。しかし、事実はそうではありませんでした。人が不幸に遭遇したとしても、それは必ずしも自業自得とは言えないのです。そして、ツォファルのように、わたしにはわかっていると思う時にこそ、落とし穴があるのでしょう。人間は完全ではなく、人の理解力にはどこか限界がある、と謙虚な思いを持っていなくては、不本意に人を傷つけることになってしまいます。同じ罪人として、痛みを抱えた人々共に寄り添う気持ちが大事で、神が、この難問に天から解決を与えてくださるのだという一歩退いた気持ちを持つべきなのでしょう。
パウロは、教会の奥義は、一致にあると説きました（エペソ3:6）。人が教会で一つ思いになっていくためには、「謙遜と柔和の限りを尽くし、寛容を示し、愛をもって互いに忍び合う」（エペソ4:2）ことがなくてはならないと言っています。人間関係に分かり合えない部分はあるものなのですから、謙遜と柔和さをもって、また寛容を示し、愛をもって互いに忍び合う、心を持ちたいものです。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります。

Chapter 20: Consciousness of the World of Spirit
In the course of the discussion so far, the thought of God and the One who intercedes for him and redeems his pain is gradually becoming clearer in Job’s mind. Zophar, however, is completely indifferent to such considerations of Job. Rather, he does not even understand Job’s words, but rather rebels against them in 19:28 with frustration.
1. the life of the wicked is fleeting (vv. 20:1-9)
Zophar is not afraid to declare his displeasure. The “spirit” translated as “enlightening spirit” in verse 3 refers to the workings of the human spirit, not to the spirit of God. In other words, Zophar is not motivated by the Spirit of God to speak with Job, but is motivated by his own thoughts to argue with Job. In addition, verse 4, “on the earth,” is the word for “on the dust. In other words, Zophar is denying the existence of the Redeemer who stands on the dust of the ground in the reading (19:25), which Job had spoken of. He says. Job, stop dreaming such dreams and get back to reality.
Job has been completely demonized. Then Zophar again speaks forcefully about the wicked and their fate (v. 5). The wicked man may have tasted the good taste of riches, but it will backfire on him. He does not know when God will pronounce a time limit on him (v. 11), and he will spit out what he has ill-gotten, which means that he must leave everything and anything on this earth (v. 15).
2. the portion the wicked will receive from God is a miserable end (20:20-29)
Zophar’s words go on for a long time, but that is just a lot of qualifying, and what he is saying is simple. When God’s judgment comes, the wicked will eventually close the curtain of his life without enjoying his accumulated wealth (v. 23). At the end of it, there is only fear (v. 25). There is an old man who once said on his deathbed, “Such a man as I am, I must go to hell, help me, pray for me. Death is the greatest trial that one must pass through alone, but if one is condemned there, there is no way out (v. 26). Job, are you not under that very judgment (v. 29)? If we focus on the external phenomena, we can only say that Job has a hidden sin. But the fact is that this was not the case. When one encounters misfortune, it is not necessarily self-inflicted. And it is precisely when we think, as Zophar did, that we have it all figured out, that we fall into the trap. We must have the humble thought that we are not perfect and that there is some limit to our understanding, or we will end up hurting others unwillingly. As fellow sinners, it is important to be close to those who are in pain, and we should have the mindset that God will provide a solution to this difficult problem from heaven, and we should step back.
Paul taught that the secret of the church is unity (Ephesians 3:6). He said that in order for people to be united in the church, they must “show humility, meekness, longsuffering, and patience with one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2). Since there are parts of human relationships where we cannot understand each other, we should have a heart of humility, meekness, forbearance, and patience with one another in love. I pray that today will be another good day.
