4章　神殿の用具

1．神殿を建て上げる

4章では、神殿で用いられる青銅の祭壇、鋳物の海、洗盤などの製作が記録されています。新改訳2017では、その特徴はあまりよく訳されていませんが、3:8-4:11に至る段落冒頭のことばは（3:8、10、14、15、16a、16b、4:1、2、6、7、8a、８b 、9、11a）、必ずバ・ヤアッシュ（彼は造った）という表現で始まっています。つまり、各制作のプロセスの完了を、判を押すかのような形で丁寧に確認しており、それはモーセの記録（出エジプト36:1-39:32）とよく似ています。ここでも著者は、ソロモンがモーセ同様、神に語られたことに忠実であったことを語ろうとしているのでしょう。神殿および、神殿の用具が、神のみこころに沿って、規格どおりに造られる、それは、このプロジェクトの主を意識すればこそです。

教会を建てあげることは、神の業に参画することです。それは、会衆の意見を吸い上げ、総意をまとめ上げて行うようなものではありません。それは、神が仰せられた「規格通りに」行うものです。当時の幕屋建設、神殿建設がそうであったように、神の設計図によく心を留めることです。つまり、神のみことばに注意深く聞き、そこに命じられているとおりに教会は建て上げられていくのです。

そのような意味では、まず教会の皆が聖書に注意深く聞く熱心さがなければ、教会は建て上がらないのです。教会の教勢が落ちて、これからどうしようか、どうやって、教勢を取り戻そうか、という悩みが教会にあるとしたら、まずは、聖書に親しむ熱意を回復することでしょう。聖書は何と言っているのか、そこに立ち戻ることです。

2．主の業として建て上げる

またソロモンは、この時期、内政、外交、経済と、様々な働きで忙しい時期でした。しかしそれでもこれらをすべて、やり遂げることができたのは、やはり、神がソロモンを助ける人材フラムを備えてくださったことによります（11節）。ソロモンは指揮者として立てられたのであって、多くの協力がそこにあったのでした。教会を建て上げることは、どうしてもその指導者、牧師の手柄のように語られてしまうことがあります。しかしそうではありません。教会の企画の中心は神ですし、牧師も信徒も皆、神の指示に従って協力しあっていく、それはまさに共同事業、心一つにして働く者たちによる業です。そのようなしっかりとした認識がないと、誰かが自分の業績を誇る、いや、業績を誇らせてしまう、人間的に持ち上げてしまうことが起こるのです。神の業として建て上げるところから、牧師も信徒も揺らいではならないのです。そうでなければ、神の業としての教会は立ちあがらないことでしょう。そのような意味で、フロムの仕事も王の仕事として記録されたに過ぎません。

 

大切なことは、フロムのように与えられた仕事を完了することです。主イエス・キリストもまた「完了した」と言って天に召されました。あなたは、どのような完了すべき働きを今の教会の中で委ねられているでしょうか。何もないということはないはずなのです。あなたがこの教会にいるのはあなたの選択でも、偶然でもありません。神が必要としてあなたを遣わされたからです。では神はあなたにここで何を完了するように語っているのか。やりかけて中断しているということはないのか。いやまだ手つかずにしていることはないのか。フロムのように、「なすべきすべての仕事を完了した」と言い切る、歩みを進めてまいりましょう。そのためには、自らの生活をよく整理して、働きを完了するための時間を取ることです。またそれを今まであまり意識もしてこなかったと言うのなら、まず聖書への熱心さを取り戻し、神のみこころを知るところから始めてまいりましょう。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります。

Chapter 4 Temple Tools

1. build a temple

In Chapter 4, the production of bronze altars, casting seas, washbasins, etc. used in the temple is recorded. The Shinkai Yaku 2017 does not translate that feature very well, but the words at the beginning of the paragraph leading up to 3:8-4:11 (3:8, 10, 14, 15, 16a, 16b, 4:1, 2, 6, 7, 8a, 8b, 9, 11a) always begin with the expression Ba Yaash (he made). In other words, it carefully checks the completion of each production process in a stamped manner, much like the record of Moses (Exodus 36:1-39:32). Again, the author is trying to tell us that Solomon, like Moses, was faithful to what God told him. The temple and its equipment will be built according to the standards of God’s will.

“To build a church is to participate in God’s work.” It is not a matter of sucking up the opinions of the congregation and forming a consensus. It is what God says is done “by the standards”. As with the construction of the tabernacle and the temple at that time, it is to pay close attention to God’s blueprint. In other words, listen carefully to the Word of God, and the church will be built up as commanded there.

In that sense, the church cannot be built unless everyone in the church is enthusiastic about listening carefully to the Bible. If the church’s power has fallen and the church is worried about what to do next, how to regain the power, the first thing to do is to restore the enthusiasm for familiarity with the Bible. Go back to what the Bible says.

2. building up as the work of the lord

Also, during this period, Solomon was busy with domestic affairs, diplomacy, economics, and various other works. However, the fact that he was able to accomplish all of these things is because God provided the human resource Flam to help Solomon (verse 11). Solomon was set up as a conductor, and there was a lot of cooperation there. Building a church is often talked about as a credit to its leaders and pastors. But it’s not. God is at the center of the planning of the church, and all pastors and believers cooperate with each other according to God’s instructions. Without such a firm awareness, it happens that someone boasts of their achievements, or rather, lets them boast of their achievements, and lifts them up in a human way. Both pastors and believers must not waver from the place of building up as a work of God. Otherwise, the church as a work of God will not stand up. In that sense, Fromm’s work was only recorded as the king’s work.

The important thing is to complete the task given to you, like Fromm. The Lord Jesus Christ also went to heaven saying, “It is finished.” What kind of work have you been entrusted to complete in the church today? It shouldn’t be nothing. You are not in this church by choice or chance. Because God sent you out of need. So what is God telling you to complete here? Isn’t it that you’re doing it and stopping it? Or is there still something left untouched? Like Fromm, let’s say, ‘I’ve done all the work that should be done’ and move on. The way to do this is to organize your life well and take time to complete the work. Also, if you say that you haven’t been very conscious of it until now, let’s start by regaining your enthusiasm for the Bible and knowing God’s will. I hope you have a good day today.
