31章　通常の礼拝の回復

1．真の神はただお一人

ヒゼキヤ王による過ぎ越しの祭りの実施は、イスラエルがエジプトの奴隷状態から救いだされた過去の歴史を振り返り、誰が彼らの救い主であり、助け手であるかを明らかにするものでした。ですから、それは必然的に偶像や偶像礼拝に関係する祭壇などすべてを破壊し取り除くことが伴いました。唯一まことの神が認められ、その神を崇めるのであれば、それで十分と言うべきでしょう。多神教的な風土を背景とする日本において、こうした行動は勇気のいることかもしれません。信仰は弱い人のものではなく、やはり多勢に流されない勇気を要することでもあるのです。

2．祭司とレビ人の組み分け

さて2節からは、神殿礼拝の復活に伴い、その神殿礼拝を維持するための、奉仕者の体制、いわゆる組み分けがなされていきます。また、その制度を支える経済面の再建が整備されます。そこでまず王自らが、それらの費用を負担し、範を示すのです（3節）。そして国民に十分の一のささげ物を献げるように促します。そうした経済面の整備は、平たく言えば、祭司とレビ人の人件費を考慮するものでした。彼らに生活の心配をさせず、聖書に定められたとおりに、彼らがその務めに専念できることを考えたのです。

大切なのは、この書の読者は、捕囚帰還民であることです。つまり、彼らは、ヒゼキヤの宗教改革を学ぶことで、神殿再建の事業は、箱モノを作って終わりではない、それを維持するためのシステム、ことにその働きに携わる人間への配慮が必要であることを教えられていることです。実際、ネヘミヤ記の12章を読むと、この時代に神殿を再建した後、その働きを維持することが難しくなった状況があったことがわかります。そしてネヘミヤはこの事態に対応するため、十分の一献金を国民に促すのです（10:37-38）。

3．十分の一献金

教会の献金は、常識を超えたカルト的な寄進の問題もあり、センシティブな問題です。しかし、私は、常識的に、教会が教会としての働きを成り立たせるための必要というのはあるものだと思います。人は、子どもの塾、習い事、趣味にお金をかけるものです。他方教会に通いながら教会の活動への配慮がない、ということはありえません。信徒は、教会の働きを維持することに無関心であってはなりません。親が子どもの必要を考えるように、信徒も教会の運営や教会の働きのために専心している牧師の生活のために心遣いをする、これは大切な責任です。それは、カルト的な教団が要求するように、家一軒売って、全財産を寄進するというような話とは無縁です。私は思うのですが、そもそも常識的に考えて疑問が生じるようなお金のやりとりが教会にあってはならないでしょう。というのも、献金は具体的な必要を考慮する中での、自由な愛の業としてなされるものだからです。ですから余ったお金を投げ入れるような献金も、出し渋るような思いで献げられる献金もあり得ません。献金は、神の恵みに対する応答として、また兄弟の働きに対する感謝と愛の配慮の証としてなされる、そうであればこそ、献金は献げる祝福であり喜びとなるのです。またこれを監査する者も、その献金の在り方に、世の醜聞とは隔絶した神の国の適切な管理に喜ぶこともできるのです。

ヒゼキヤはダビデの助言に従い（1歴代22:19）、先の王の模範に倣いました（2歴代15:17）。彼の繁栄が確実になる道筋には、落胆あり（2歴代30:10）、深刻な危機あり（32:1-23）、自分の罪の現実と向かい合う、様々な面がありました（32:25-26）。そのような中で、神を求め、心を尽くして従う歩みがあったので（21節）、彼も祝されたのです。では今日もよき一日となるように祈ります（詩篇1:1-3）

Chapter 31 Restoration of normal worship

1. there is only one true god

King Hezekiah’s celebration of the Passover celebrated Israel’s deliverance from Egyptian slavery and revealed who their Savior and Helper was. Therefore, it entailed the destruction and removal of all idols and altars associated with idolatry. If only one true God is recognized and worshiped, that should be enough. In Japan, which has a polytheistic climate, such an action may require courage. Faith is not for the weak, but it also requires courage not to be swept away by the crowd.

2. Division of priests and Levites

Now, from verse 2, along with the revival of temple worship, a system of ministers, so-called divisions, will be made to maintain the temple worship. In addition, the economic reconstruction that supports the system will be put in place. Therefore, the king himself bears these costs and sets an example (verse 3). And he urges the nation to make a tithe offering. In layman’s terms, such economic arrangements took into consideration the labor costs of the priests and Levites. He thought that he would not let them worry about their livelihoods, and that they would be able to devote themselves to their duties as prescribed by Scripture.

The important thing is that the readers of this book are returnees of captivity. In other words, by studying Hezekiah’s Reformation, they learned that the project of rebuilding the temple does not end with the creation of a building, but rather the system for maintaining it, especially the consideration of the people involved in its work. is what we are taught to need. In fact, when we read the 12th chapter of Nehemiah, we can see that there were circumstances during this period that made it difficult to maintain the work of the temple after it was rebuilt. And Nehemiah urges the people to give tithes to deal with this situation (10:37-38).

3. tithe

Church donations are a sensitive issue, partly due to the issue of cult-like donations that go beyond common sense. But I think, common sense, there are certain things that a church needs in order for it to work as a church. People spend money on their children’s cram schools, lessons, and hobbies. On the other hand, it is impossible to go to church without paying attention to church activities. Lay people must not be indifferent to maintaining the work of the church. Just as parents care about the needs of their children, it is an important responsibility for the lay people to care for the lives of pastors who are dedicated to the running of the church and the ministry of the church. It has nothing to do with selling a house and donating all your fortune, as some cultists demand. In my opinion, there should be no money exchanges in the church that raise questions with common sense. For giving is done as an act of free love in consideration of concrete needs. Therefore, there can be no donations that throw in surplus money, or donations that are reluctant to contribute. Offerings are made as a response to God’s grace and as a token of gratitude and loving care for the ministry of the brothers. Also, those who inspect this can also be pleased with the way the donation is done and the proper management of the kingdom of God, which is isolated from the scandals of the world.

Hezekiah followed David’s advice (1 Chronicles 22:19) and followed the example of the previous king (2 Chronicles 15:17). The path that ensured his prosperity was multifaceted: despondency (2 Chronicles 30:10), great peril (32:1-23), and confrontation with the reality of his sin (32:10). 25-26).
